Exciting research update!
Our amazing PhD student Rachal Quinlan and Prof Cylie Williams have just presented our Delphi findings from the Kids Leg Pain project, helping to improve how we measure pain, fatigue, function, and quality of life in children with hypermobility.

We also had the chance to visit the SickKids Hospital Ehlers-Danlos Clinic in Toronto to share our work and connect with their brilliant team. It’s so encouraging to see international collaboration growing in this space!

Understanding Leg Pain in Kids: What You Should Know

Check out our latest study which has reviewed how we assess and diagnose a rare but serious condition called avascular necrosis in children’s legs (excluding the hip). The findings reveal a strong focus on impairments, with limited use of validated tools and minimal attention to activity and participation outcomes.

Why it matters:
Early diagnosis is key
More child-focused assessments are needed
Better tools = better care

Has your child been diagnosed with Perthes Disease and experienced leg pain for more than 3 months?

Macquarie University is conducting a research study to learn more about this condition from the perspectives of children, families, and healthcare providers.

We’re looking for:
Children and teens aged 5–20
Parent/guardian to complete a short online survey (~5 minutes)
Child to participate in a Zoom interview (~30 minutes)
