Talk to me about tailoring your event or workshop. Simone offers a boutique style of Yoga offering personal attention to small groups. She is a member of YTAA and has been practicing Yoga for over 18 years, studying in Sydney, New Zealand and Melbourne and completed her Diploma of Yoga Teaching over 5 years ago. Her style of Yoga is Hatha but over the years she has been influenced by Iyengar, Desikarchar and more recently studying under Physiotherapist and renowned Yoga teacher, Simon Borg Oliver and Master Yang Zhen Hua, who has trained for more than 40 years in Chinese systems of martial arts and qigong, as well as Buddhism and Chinese philosophy. Calligraphy Yoga is for anyone who wants to improve their physical health, strengthen their psychological resilience and cultivate their internal energetic reserves. It creates a natural body where movement becomes free-flowing, light, easy and intuitive( like art). The health of the body is profoundly influenced by Calligraphy Yoga, because it helps to restore natural balance. Movement becomes freer and looser as the body grows stronger and healthier, more balanced and in-tune with nature.
1.The principles of Tai Chi bring smooth effortless movement

2.The principles of Chinese Qigong bring an understanding of internal energy and a focus on Dantien as an energetic centre

3.The postures of Indian Yoga bring a physiological structure and form to the movements

4.The technique of Chinese calligraphy brings a 3 dimensional flow and link to the movements that are both intuitive and graceful. Simone is a qualified Remedial Masseuse and is acutely aware that everyone needs to move differently and according to their own body. Classes are taught so that each individual is able to take each posture to their own limitation without feeling threatened by competition. Come and discover the benefits.

I’ve been quiet for a while as I’ve spent the past 6 years working for Thamarrurr Youth Indigenous Corporation, with people from the remote community of Wadeye. Last week I ended my time with them teaching yoga in community and watching women and girls come together to move, to discuss how to deal with stress whilst sharing their weaving practices. We found some pretty amazing places to gather. We were so blessed to share time together & I know that despite me teaching them, they have taught me so much more. I have been so blessed.

This is my first time back in the studio since Dad died. So appropriate that I am working on this again as he was the one who instilled a passion for skiing in all of your family. We recently spread some of his ashes at Falls Creek, where we all gathered to remember him. I dedicate this print to my darling Dad. Miss you more than you’ll ever know.

Today we mark the passing of this beautiful body who gave us such wisdom. Forever grateful. I will think of you in every cloud.

This Body is not Me

by Thich Nhat Hanh

This body is not me.

I am not limited by this body.

I am life without boundaries.

I have never been born,

and I have never died.

Look at the ocean and the sky filled with stars,

manifestations from my wondrous true mind.

Since before time, I have been free.

Birth and death are only doors through which we pass,

sacred thresholds on our journey.

Birth and death are a game of hide-and-seek.

So laugh with me,

hold my hand,

let us say good-bye,

say good-bye, to meet again soon.

We meet today.

We will meet again tomorrow.

We will meet at the source every moment.

We meet each other in all forms of life.
