🌻 Volunteers Wanted – Share a Little Time, Make a Big Difference 🌻
We’re looking for friendly volunteers to spend time with our residents at Wheatfields Residential Care.
Mums with toddlers are especially welcome — our residents absolutely love the laughter, energy and joy little ones bring! 💛
It can be as simple as having a chat over coffee, reading the newspaper, playing a game, or even joining us on a bus trip out in the countryside.
Even a couple of hours can brighten someone’s day.

What an incredible afternoon we had at our African Drumming Workshop with Bortier from African Soul! 🥁✨

The room was filled with vibrant rhythms, big smiles, and so much positive energy. Everyone had an amazing time learning the beats, connecting through music, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way.

The atmosphere was so infectious that even our staff couldn’t help but move their bodies and join in with the rhythm! It truly was a fabulous afternoon full of joy, vibrant energy, and lots of happiness.

A huge thank you to Bortier for bringing such wonderful spirit and music to our community. We can’t wait to do it again! 🌍🎶

Last Wednesday we took our newly wrapped bus out for its very first outing and wow, did we turn some heads! 🚌✨

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic day out at the Adelaide Zoo. The weather was absolutely perfect, and everyone loved seeing the animals and spending time together exploring. 🦁🐒🌿

The ride home was a quiet one, lots of tired (but very happy!) faces. Even so, they’re still talking about the day and already planning the next adventure…

Maybe the Monarto Safari Park next? 🦒✨

We are beyond excited to officially welcome our new and improved bright and vibrant Wheatfields Bus! 🌈🚌

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Freeling Community Op Shop, our bus has had a fabulous refresh and is looking better than ever. Their support helps us continue doing what we love — connecting, supporting, and serving our wonderful community.

Keep an eye out for this colourful beauty out and about — we can’t wait to provide amazing outings for our residents and create even more special memories together! 💛✨

On this lovely hot summer’s day ☀️ we decided to host our very own Wheatfields Best Bikini Body Competition 😜

It was an absolute hit… so popular in fact that the boys made it very clear they did not want to be left out — so a cheeky boys’ option was whipped up on the spot!

Cue lots of laughter, big personalities, playful posing and plenty of good-natured banter. Proof that confidence, humour and having a laugh never go out of style 💃🕺

It’s been a hot minute since we last posted and there have been some big changes at Wheatfields… we finally moved into our beautiful new building! 🏡✨

Now the fun begins — we’re working hard to make it feel like home and decorate it in a way that truly reflects us. First stop: our gorgeous new vertical garden in the courtyard.

Haven’t the residents done an amazing job?! 👏🌿💚

🏇 Melbourne Cup at Wheatfields 🏆
What a fabulous day we’ve had celebrating the race that stops the nation!

Residents dressed to impress for our Melbourne Cup Luncheon, complete with delicious food, laughter, and plenty of friendly competition. We even hosted our very own Wheatfields Horse Races and let’s just say there were some very spirited contenders galloping for glory! 🐎✨

It was wonderful to see everyone come together, sharing in the excitement, cheers, and that unmistakable Cup-day atmosphere. Days like this remind us what Wheatfields spirit is all about fun, friendship, and a little bit of friendly flair! 💐🥂

Yesterday was a day full of laughter and good food!

Our residents enjoyed a lovely bus trip to the Vine Inn for lunch and just when we thought the day couldn’t get any sweeter, our amazing bus driver surprised everyone with a detour through the Hungry Jack’s drive-through for ice cream on the way home! 😋

There were smiles, laughter, and happy hearts all around. What a wonderful day out together. 💛

✨ What a magical week we’ve had here at Wheatfields! ✨

From cow milking competitions 🐄, sheep shearing demonstrations 🐑, and guessing the weight of a very cute piglet 🐷… to celebrating 100th birthdays 🎉 and pony visits 🐴—this week has truly had it all.

Today we wrapped it all up with an absolute cracker of a Show Day! 🎡
🌟 The Gawler River Trinity kids joined us to run side shows and perform
🌟 Our kitchen team outdid themselves with a feast of dagwood dogs, jam donuts & ice cream (plus a bake-off where everyone voted for their favourites!)
🌟 We were entertained by a magician, a cheeky clown, fairy floss machine, and the beautiful In Good Company Choir 🎶

It’s been a jam-packed day full of magic, fun and laughter—and something tells me everyone will be sleeping very well tonight! 💤💛

A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make this week so special for our residents. We know they had the most wonderful time! 🥰
