Going to see live performances is of different quality than watching a movie that may have taken lots of takes to get it right!

Watching Rent and the talented actors embodying the story touched my heart and soul.

Life throws at us so many difficult challenges and Rent reminded me to question my own ability to feel deeply what arises spontaneously and where I am not authentically expressing my feelings!

The inability to be with what arises within us as feelings, turns into unprocessed emotions that causes the suffering in our lives and the disease in our physical bodies!

The lesson is to get/become better at feeling! This was a profound realisation for me!

✨Date night with my love! Opera hits at the Sydney Opera House! I still have to pinch myself every time I go out in Sydney. Such a stunning place to live and share it with the one I love🦋

✨Still not convinced I like opera but this was an amazing introduction and experience! What these performers can do with their voice instrument is absolutely incredible! Hits you right in the heart centre!

☘️One of the most inspiring things about transformation is how it often begins in the most unlikely moments.

✨I learned so much from my first yoga retreat with Phee and met and got to know some of the most incredible people.

☘️Many who have made significant changes started not because life was easy, but precisely because it wasn’t.

✨Tonight- Thursday practice is all about the Heart ✨

🫶Over the years I have been dedicating many of my yoga practices to opening the Heart Centre because I have come to understand that when we are hurt or hurting we not only close our hearts to protect ourselves from the pain but also we close our hearts to receiving the love that is abundant in our lives🫶  🦋Opening the heart is a process and as we make small shifts in awareness our consciousness expands and our release of tension and hurt and trauma can move through the heart centre and release🦋

☘️This is the most important process we can go through is consciously choosing not to close our hearts even when it is hard and painful☘️

✨It takes patience, kindness, focus and most importantly courage to do this work✨

✨Let’s move and shift the energy through our practice tonight✨

✨Today’s deep lesson came from a student who had just finished a 90 min yoga class and stayed in the room after class!✨

✨I came to practice the next class that was about to start in 10min and entered the yoga room with another student who wanted me to meet his partner who was here for the first time. ✨

✨We were having a quiet conversation when the student that was staying from the previous class came up to us and said that he was wanting a bit of quiet time after class and we should take our conversation outside so he can have his time!✨

✨I smiled and thanked him for bringing this to our attention and noted in my heart the importance of being aware of how the external environment is shaping our experience, how we feel and act based on our expectations!

✨I am always fascinated by the yoga practice and how difficult it is to practice yoga off the yoga mat in situations that constantly challenge our awareness; where we place our focus when things are not the way we wanted them to be Is the yoga!

✨Our yoga practice is working when we notice the inner disturbance and we ask where do I feel this in my body, why am I allowing an external noise break my peace!

✨Next time you go on an impulse reaction because something is different from your preference and expectation ask yourself where do I feel this in my body.

✨You maybe surprised what happens and how incredibly powerful it is to stay in the uncomfortable inner disturbance long enough to see it shift and move through you!

✨This is where the real yoga is!

✨Always look within, the answers are already inside waiting for you to come home!

✨So maybe you are excellent at “pretzeling” your body but the real yoga begins when you look deep within! Meditate on this and let me know if it resonates!

✨All smiles last week posture clinic with Manali✨

🦋Gratitude to the incredible energy of love that I felt from Manali. The kind of love that asks us to soften, open, and see more deeply.

🪷It is not just how we look in these yoga poses but how we feel in the moment that reflects what our body can do!

🦋No one ever knows what another person is going through or feels and we must open to the kind of love that includes grief, devotion, heartbreak, injuries and above all — acceptance.

✨Because before we can truly expand into love, we must first accept what is.

🦋The parts of us we hide. The parts of others we try to fix.
 🪷The truth of what we feel — messy, tender, beautiful shows up in our yoga practice and our experience is unique just like our anatomical alignment is unique!

🦋Practicing yoga the right way requires guidance that comes from love and that is what I enjoyed the most meeting Manali!
