World Cancer Day – February 4th 🌍

World Cancer Day is a global initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), bringing people together worldwide to raise awareness, improve education, and encourage action to reduce the impact of cancer.

Exercise is now recognised as an important part of cancer care. Evidence shows it is safe and beneficial before, during, and after cancer treatment.

Why movement matters:
βœ… Helps reduce treatment-related side effects such as fatigue, pain and anxiety
βœ… Improves strength, bone health, mood and overall quality of life
βœ… Supports recovery and may reduce the risk of cancer recurrence
βœ… Helps maintain function and independence at all stages of care

General guidance:
πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Aim for up to 150 minutes of moderate activity per week
πŸ’ͺ Include 2 strength sessions where possible
