Have you ever heard of the vagus nerve? It’s the largest nerve in your body — constantly sending messages between your brain and the rest of your body.
The largest distribution actually sits in your gut meaning the biggest connection to this powerful nerve is with your gut. It’s your body’s way of saying “the gut matters most.” When your vagus nerve is calm and responsive, your whole system functions better — digestion, mood, heart rate, and even your immune response.
You can tone and repair your vagus nerve through simple daily practices:
• Nourish with omega-3s (think chia, h**p, salmon, walnuts)
• Deep breathing — try the 4–8 breath (inhale for 4, exhale for 8)
• Spend 10 minutes a day in stillness or meditation
• Keep your gut healthy — it’s your direct line to calm
A well-regulated vagus nerve means a well-regulated you.
Save this post as a reminder to take a few deep breaths today — your gut (and your nervous system) will thank you.
