Most of this year I’ve been struggling with annoying foot pain on my running journey. I tried resting, switching shoes, shockwave & expensive orthotics, but nothing quite did the trick. At first I suspected a Plantar fascia issue but things weren’t adding up. Loading up the Flexor Hallucis Brevis muscle started changing things for me. Sometimes the body just needs time to adapt, after all I’ve been giving it a new stimulus after 25 years of riding a bike. Have you got foot pain? It might be more than plantar fasciitis. When pain isn’t what it seems...
One of my recent clients came back to see me after a visit to their GP.
Their X-ray showed early signs of osteoarthritis in the hip — yet their main symptoms were being diagnosed as sciatica.

These two conditions can sometimes look very similar — pain down the leg, stiffness, and reduced mobility — but the underlying causes (and the best treatment plans) are often quite different.

That’s why collaboration between your GP and your therapist is so important.
After reviewing the report and conducting a thorough assessment I was able to tailor his sessions to manage both the hip joint changes and he had no nerve-related symptoms.
