My little holiday is coming to an end, only a couple more nights here with my Newcastle family, tomorrow i got to visit some very dear friends in Maitland, and then back here monday and I fly home Tuesday evening. Its been a wonderful break, and im feeling very relaxed and recharged and am looking forward to getting back to work on all the beautiful poppets that are waiting to be fixed and sent home....

So Poppets, I bid you a fond farewell for the next 2 weeks as im heading off tomorrow in the wee small hours to have a much needed break and recharge my batteries and reconnect with myself.
It has been such a busy year, dollwise and on a personal level, lots of ups and downs, joys and sadness.
No place better than time with my family living in Newcastle....
I will be back on deck to take care of your loved ones from Feb 4th....

Its always an adventure repairing old dolls, but this large beauty had a few special surprises today....
Inside her body is lined with German newspapers from i think 1911, and there was a scrunched up piece of paper in one arm, an old repair, that when I ironed it out is a bit of the front and back pages of The Sun, Melbourne Feb 2nd 1933....so she had made her way to Australia by then. A fascinating bit of her history indeed.
We were able to trace one Aus cricketer, BJ Tobin, who was about to play his first test match the following week. 🙂

Huge weekend at the Geelong Yuletide Medieval Festival....our group had a fantastic time doing battle for the crowds, and watching other performers. The fire dancers were amazing....back to the real world today once we unpack the vehicles, then back to all your dolls....
From 67 down to about 58 now....hang in there my poppets, working as fast as 2 hands can 💜

For any of my wonderfully patient Poppets waiting for their dolly/teddy's return....my aim is to get as many home by Xmas as I physically can....
2 major medieval events have clobbered the end of November (as well as myself.)

Home from a Very Big weekend at VMF...Let the great unpacking begin, tents to dry. Loads of washing as it rained day 3...
Then we do it all again on Friday for Geelong Yuletide Medieval Festival.

Hello Poppets, what an incredibly amazing year this has turned out to be. My little business has almost trippled the number of dollies, teddy's and beloved toys that have come to visit which is totally overwhelming...
We have also added 2 new babies to our tribe of grandchildren which has brought so much joy, and lots of knitting for me to do.
I thank every single one of you for firstly, your trust in me to restore your treasures, and secondly your patience, (my kingdom for an intelligent octopus) as I only have one pair of hands and a limited number of hours in a day, though I'd do 24 per day if I could.
Life, as it does for everyone, has thrown a few challenges my way, that have slowed me down in the last few months, but I am working hard to get all my outstanding poppets returned home before Christmas....
