Grateful for some heartfelt feedback today❤️

Family counselling was a really comfortable and valuable experience for us. Julie is warm, calm, and easy to talk to, but she also asks the right questions and keeps things moving, not just talking in circles.

We both walked out feeling heard and actually understood. She gave us practical tools without making either of us feel judged or “the problem,” and that made all the difference.

If you’re nervous about counselling or wondering if it’s worth it, Julie is the person you want in your corner. Highly recommend.

This is especially for those who tend to care for others before self (let’s be honest as women we are socially conditioned in our gender to do this!). I invite you to think about self and what you may need to charge your battery ❤️

This halloween lets do something different 🎃

Instead of putting on masks, what if we chose to take them off?
Today can be an invitation to show up as your true self, to make one conscious choice that comes from a place of authenticity rather than expectation.

As Brené Brown reminds us:

“Authenticity is the courage to embrace imperfections, set boundaries, and let your true self be seen — even when it’s difficult.”

So maybe today, the real magic isn’t in disguise, but in daring to be real. 💛👻👹

My 19 year old son sent this to me and I cried watching it. This resonated for me in so many ways, one from a deeply personal place of my son sharing his experience (as we didn't always get it right!). Secondly hearing the profound impact that modelling and witnessing can have on a child growing up. It shapes their nervous system around how they go on to behave in relationships. And lastly, how little boys idolise their fathers and are always watching and learning -like little sponges ❤️

I am grateful for the work I do, and for the trust people place in me during challenging times. Hearing how the process has impacted people continues to remind me why this work matters.

'If you are looking for a couples counsellor - Julie is amazing. Everyone feels heard with no judgement and lots of practical things to try. We would be divorced without her! We are happier now than what we were when we got married'

It is important to recognise that fawning (aka people pleasing) is a survival strategy that we adapt to, mainly during childhood. When we grow up being regulated by others (if you are ok, I can be ok) it makes sense that the emotional system settles when the people around us are “ok”. It happens so naturally we may not even notice it is happening!
