I’ve been a bit MIA on this account lately. And that’s okay.
Uni has demanded more time from me lately, as well as work and other commitments. And that’s okay.
Sometimes we need to take a step back from some things in our lives and focus our energy into other aspects. In doing so, it’s important to recognise that this isn’t giving up and it isn’t quitting. It is prioritising what is most important to ourselves at the time and doing what is best for our wellbeing. Of course, priorities will change, and this should also be recognised. As long as we focus our energy on what is most important for our happiness and understand that we are continuously shifting and growing, we can do no wrong.
And that’s okay.

Taking a moment for your self 🧘🏼‍♀️

When was the last time you were still? When you just sat and listened?
Listened to yourself, and your thoughts, or listened to the environment surrounding you.
Taking moments to pause in solitude and regain composure is vital in maintaining calm and works wonders on self reflection. Take time to sit with yourself and think and reflect on how you are travelling in this world, what is going well and what you would like to improve on.
Self growth comes from self reflection. It may not be easy at first, but (like most things) with practice it will become easier.
After reflecting on yourself, take in the beauty of your environment. Your surrounds. One thing I find both soothing and grounding is to run through the 5 senses and think about what I can hear, see, smell, taste, and feel.
Try a simple reflection session like this today. If you are feeling overwhelmed, overworked or over stressed, or even if you would just like to check in on yourself, this is one way to help guide yourself to calm and clarity. ☀️💛

We learn from our experiences, both ‘good’ and ‘bad’. They shape who we are today, both directly and indirectly. How we deal with what life throws at us is reflective of ourselves. We can either let the negatives overrule our well-being, or we can stand up and overcome the obstacles we face. If we stumble, we don’t fail- we learn. Every experience is an opportunity to grow - an opportunity to rise and an opportunity to strengthen. ☀️💛

Getting some practice in before I tackle 150km next month 🏃🏼‍♀️

Exercise is incredible for putting me in a good mood. The more often I’m working out and being active, the greater the shift I see in my attitude. I feel more confident and I feel happier. 🥰☀️
Exercise also helps me to sleep. Often I can’t sleep with things running through my mind, but after an active day I’m out like a light as soon as my head hits the pillow. 😴
