In session with Clients I am often asked if self help books work. I normally reply that they do not, even though I do recommend several books, I still maintain that they do not work. Self help books are the same as any tool that you may have, it is "your application of the knowledge in the book that works". You can have the best garden spade, however it will not dig the garden unless "you use it", knowledge is the same. Knowledge must contemplated, understood and applied before it benefits you.
I will be reviewing several books and publishing the reviews on this page. The first book I recommend is, "How to Solve Our Human Problems: The Four Noble Truths", Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
This book is the smallest book out of approximately thirty books written by Buddhist Master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. It is arguably the most valuable book he has written. It is an excellent challenge to conventional western thinking in relation to individual behaviour, especially in relation to anger.
Anyone who wishes to commence learning about self mastery or is concerned about their behaviour, anger or blaming others for their life situation may benefit from contemplating the content of this book.
