We had a powerful session with Kalamunda Cricket Club Inc. Talking all things mental health, emotional awareness and the importance of checking in, on and off the field.

These conversations matter.
In clubrooms.
In teams.
In communities.

When sporting clubs create space for real conversations, they help build stronger people, not just better players.

Thank you to everyone who leaned in and got involved.

Junior sport isn’t just developing athletes.
It’s developing humans.

As parents, our words and reactions carry weight, often more than the scoreboard.

Encouragement over critique.
Effort over outcome.
Connection over comparison.

Here are five practical tips to support your child’s mental wellbeing in sport.

Which one resonates most with you?

Brahma Lodge Cricket Club and Golden Grove Cricket Club have again been incredible in completing a mental health round and having OTLR as the mental health partner.

Both clubs are now in their 2nd year playing in this mental health round and their commitment to each other to bring awareness to mental wellbeing is incredible.

Thank you to Tom for organising and having OTLR involved in such a great cause.

👊A massive thank you to everyone who supported our Outside the Locker Room fundraiser.

With your generosity, we’ve raised over $3,000 — and likely more once everything is finalised.

A special shout‑out to Golden Grove Cricket Club for their support and for standing alongside us in such an important cause. Your contribution made a huge difference.

To everyone who helped with the dinner, pitched in behind the scenes, and brought the energy on the day — thank you. The camaraderie around the club was unreal. Days like this show exactly what the Lodge is all about: people looking out for each other and backing something bigger than themselves.

Energy grows where attention goes.

Clear the noise.
Create space.
Watch what shifts.

What is one thing that you could switch off today?

Some of the most powerful moments happen after the session ends.
When people reflect. When things click. When real conversations begin.

These words come from different rooms, different ages, different experiences,
but they all point to the same truth.

Mental health skills change lives.
Not someday. Right now. Across generations.

This is why we show up.
And why this work matters.

Mental health isn't just personal, its collective.

It's in our clubs.
Our workplaces.
Our conversations.
Our willingness to show up.

If your mate hasn't been themselves lately, check in.
A message. A call. A simple "How are you really?"

You never know how important that check in might be for someone.

The sun’s out. The air feels lighter.
And sometimes… that’s your sign.
Taking care of your mental health doesn’t have to be big or complicated.

It can look like a walk outside.
Kicking a footy.
Sitting in the sun with someone you love.
Taking a breath without rushing to the next thing.

If today gives you the chance to be outdoors, take it.
If it gives you the chance to connect, lean into it.
And if all you can manage is a few quiet minutes, that’s enough too.

Your mental health deserves sunlight, movement and kindness.
