From exploring local spots and trying new activities to spending time together and enjoying the surroundings, there was always something happening. Each outing brought something different, making it an enjoyable and engaging weekend for everyone involved.

Noel arrived home and quickly got changed before heading out for a haircut. He enjoyed a friendly chat with the hairdresser and was very happy with the result.
He then went to Corio Village to purchase sunscreen, toothpaste, and a new lunchbox, showing good independence while completing his shopping.
Once home, Noel finished his evening tasks, including hanging out the washing and cleaning his shaver. He was focused and motivated throughout, making it a productive and positive afternoon.

This morning we attended lawn bowls where Ric had set up a circuit activity for the group. Participants took turns aiming their bowls at the targets, with everyone giving it a go. Some participants were successful in hitting the targets, which brought lots of excitement and encouragement from others. It was great to see everyone cheering each other on and creating a supportive and positive environment.
Following the activity, the group enjoyed morning tea together at the park, providing an opportunity to relax and socialise. After morning tea, we refuelled the van before continuing with the day.

At Better2gether, numbers matter… but people matter more.

We’re looking for a Finance & Systems Coordinator who loves tidy systems, accurate data and meaningful work that genuinely supports people living with disability.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys making complex funding and systems processes run smoothly, so our support teams can focus on what really counts, great outcomes for our participants.

The group enjoyed fishing in the morning and Phoebe learned about keeping the environment clean by picking up fishing wire so it doesn’t hurt the wildlife. She then explained to the rest of the group why it’s so important.
In the afternoon the gardening group watered the plants and harvested their corn on the cob. The creative minds groups worked on our scarecrow and then kept cool inside practicing their writing skills with a special visit from Chai and Maple 🍁💕

What a great night filled with conversations, laughter, and catching up with friends 💜

Fiona was absolutely glowing while showcasing her lovely new dress, James introduced us to his aunty and family members he bumped into at the Sphinx, and Vanessa proudly showed off her fabulous rainbow nails 💅 We also had a surprise guest Nikki!

Steph took charge of getting signatures from everyone who attended, helping keep things organised behind the scenes 👏
Rowan confidently used his communication card to order his meal, a great example of independence and self-advocacy in action ⭐️

Our chat about the wind naturally opened up a great conversation about the heat and sun ☀️, giving us the opportunity to talk about staying safe in warm weather, drinking plenty of water, using sunblock, and keeping cool.

A relaxed, social night with meaningful conversations, learning moments, and great company 🤍

No fishing due to the extreme weather so we took the opportunity to get everything together for our scarecrow. We went to some op shops in the morning before it got too hot and gathered most of what we needed, then after a quick stop at Bunnings to get baskets for making the head, we checked out Industry 26 on Pako for a cold drinks and coffee. The girls enjoyed finding a new coffee place we liked. After that it was getting too hot so we went back to the hub where keep cool, had some lunch and then started putting together the scarecrow. Making stripes on the jacket 🐝 and starting construction of the head.

They walked through different adventures, starting in the jungle, moving through the snow, and exploring plenty of other colourful worlds along the way. What an adventure it was 🎈🎈🎈
