Just in time for Christmas 🎄 It’s been a solid 4 years of studying, shadowing, volunteering, working and soaking in all that is Speech Pathology. Time now to bring the cortisol levels down and enjoy some time with the fam. I’ll be revived and ready to start practicing early in the new year. Happy and safe holiday to everyone in the meantime 🎉🎄🧘‍♀️

Communication partner training is so important for people living with communication difficulties. Knowing how to communicate with loved ones is essential for ensuring participation and maintaining quality of life.

Great news for speech pathologists and older people! 👏

From 1 November 2025, the Support at Home program will recognise both direct and indirect clinical speech pathology activities in its pricing – thanks to SPA’s strong advocacy alongside other allied health peak bodies.

Indirect activities like educating care partners and prescribing or programming communication aids are essential to achieving positive outcomes for older people.

We’re pleased the Department has listened to the sector and made this important update.
