🌿 Tai Chi in Gingin – New Year Update! 🌿
Thank you to everyone who showed interest in our 10-week Beginners Chen-style Tai Chi program!

After gathering everyone’s preferences, we had an even split between morning and afternoon sessions. With Christmas fast approaching and everyone’s calendars filling up, we’ll be starting fresh in the New Year with both an AM and PM class available. ✨

At this stage, the exact day of the week is still being finalised, as I will be staying overnight in Gingin to run the classes and am currently finalising my 2026 clinic schedule. I’ll confirm the day, start date, and booking details in early January.

🧘‍♂️ Planned Times:
🌅 Morning class – 8:30am
🌇 Evening class – 6:30pm

If you’d like to register your interest or be added to the list, feel free to comment below or send a message — looking forward to bringing Tai Chi to the Gingin community in the New Year! 🌱✨

🌾 New Beginnings at Gingin Chiropractic 🌾

Since stepping into the Gingin Chiropractic space in June, it’s been such a joy getting to know this wonderful community from familiar faces to new ones walking through the door.

Gingin might be small, but the stories, the resilience, and the sense of community here are something truly special. It’s an honour to now be part of that.

As a chiropractor, my approach is gentle, respectful, and always centred on helping people do what they love whether that’s working the land, chasing after grandkids, or simply living life with more ease and less pain.

Thank you to those who have already made me feel so welcome, I’m truly grateful to be here.
Kylie 💛

Let’s talk about joint position sense 🧠🦴

Your body is constantly sending signals to your brain about where you are in space, this is called proprioception. Tiny sensors in your joints, muscles, and ligaments help you balance, move smoothly, and stay coordinated without even thinking about it.

When joints become restricted or irritated (say, from poor posture, old injuries, or repetitive strain), this feedback can become less accurate, kind of like static on a phone line.

Research shows chiropractic adjustments can help restore normal joint movement and improve proprioceptive input to the brain. This can play a role in:
*Better coordination and balance
*Reduced risk of falls or injury
*Improved motor control and movement efficiency
*Helping the nervous system “reset” after strain or stress

It’s not just about cracking backs, it’s about how your brain and body communicate.

💡 Iron & Magnesium: A Powerful Duo for Energy + Balance

You’ve probably heard of these minerals on their own, but did you know they actually work together in your body?

Here’s how 👇

⚙️ Magnesium helps activate enzymes that process iron
Without enough magnesium, your body may struggle to absorb or properly use the iron you’re getting from food or supplements, meaning fatigue can hang around even if your iron levels look “ok.”

🔋 Iron carries oxygen, magnesium helps your cells use it
Iron gets oxygen to your tissues, while magnesium helps turn that oxygen into energy at the cellular level. Both are essential for reducing tiredness and supporting brain function.

🧠 Together they support nervous system regulation
Low levels of either can contribute to sleep problems, anxiety, brain fog, or poor stress response.

💪 Muscles need both to function properly
Iron delivers oxygen for endurance, and magnesium relaxes your muscles to prevent cramping and twitching. A deficiency in either can lead to pain, tension, or weakness.

⚠️ People most at risk of being low in both:
• Women (especially during menstruation or pregnancy)
• Athletes or those training hard
• People under chronic stress
• Those with gut absorption issues

✨ Supporting one without the other can lead to ongoing symptoms, that’s why at Evospine, we look at all the pieces of your health puzzle.

1. Identifying the Trigger Point
• A trigger point is a taut, hypersensitive band in a muscle that can refer pain or cause tightness.
• These points may be tender to touch and can contribute to pain locally or in referred areas.

2. Inserting the Needle
• Needle is inserted directly into the trigger point or dysfunctional tissue.
• The goal is to mechanically disrupt the dysfunctional muscle fibers.

3. Eliciting a Local Twitch Response (LTR)
• The insertion often provokes a brief, involuntary muscle contraction known as a local twitch response.
• This is a spinal cord reflex that signals the release of the muscle’s contraction.
• The LTR is a good sign, it’s associated with reduced muscle tension and pain.

4. Effects on Muscle and Nervous System
• Mechanical Effects: The needle disrupts dysfunctional endplates and tight sarcomeres (contracted muscle fibers), allowing them to reset and relax.
• Neurological Effects:
• Alters pain perception via changes in local nerve activity.
• Stimulates descending inhibitory pathways, which suppress pain signals in the central nervous system.
• Chemical Effects:
• Needling reduces concentrations of pain-related chemicals (e.g., substance P, CGRP) in the area.
• Increases local blood flow, promoting healing.

5. Post-Needling Response
• Patients often feel immediate relief or soreness for up to 24-48 hours post-treatment.
• This soreness is similar to the feeling after intense exercise and usually resolves as the tissue heals and tension normalizes.
