Supporting strong, confident teens through physiotherapy led training.

For the past 12 months, Macedon Ranges Health has been running a physiotherapy developed and led strengthening program for teens aged 12–17.

The program supports young people to build strength, improve movement and reduce injury risk in a safe, supportive environment.

“This program is about setting young people up with the right foundations for lifelong movement and sport,” says Aleks, program physiotherapist. “We focus on age appropriate strength, key movement patterns and injury prevention, with a strong emphasis on correct technique. These foundational athletic movements are the building blocks that help prepare young people to safely transition into a commercial gym environment later on, when it’s appropriate, while building confidence and performance as they grow.”

“We consistently hear really positive feedback from participants. Teens tell us they feel stronger, more confident, and better prepared for sport and future training. Parents also appreciate that the program is supervised by physiotherapists in a safe, supportive environment where correct technique and long-term development really matter.”

A great example of how early, evidence-based support can help young people move well now - and into the future.

Coming soon to Macedon Ranges Health - new podiatry treatment.

We’re excited to introduce Photodynamic Antimicrobial Therapy (PACT) - an advanced treatment option for fungal nail infections.
Fungal nail infections are more common than many people realise, affecting around 1 in 10 Australian adults, with rates increasing as we age. If left untreated, these infections can lead to discomfort and complications, including bacterial infections beneath the nail.
At Macedon Ranges Health, our Podiatry team regularly supports clients - particularly older adults - experiencing ongoing fungal nail infections.

What is PACT?

PACT is a modern, non-invasive fungal nail treatment with a success rate of around 80%. It uses a specialised photosensitive gel combined with light therapy to target and eliminate fungal pathogens, without the need for oral medications or surgical procedures.

For podiatry enquiries, contact Macedon Ranges Health on 5428 0300.

But if you know someone who may not seek recognition, but deserves it, we encourage you to put their name forward 🫵

Nominations close on Sunday 22 February 2026. For more info and to nominate, visit mrsc.vic.gov.au/Community-Awards 🔗

To support our community struggling with chronic pain, we run a four-week chronic pain program, designed to provide genuine support, shared understanding and practical strategies to help you feel more in control.

This program is for anyone living with chronic pain who wants to feel heard, supported and empowered in a safe, understanding environment.

The program includes:
✔ Supportive group conversations with others who “get it”
✔ Practical, everyday tools to help manage chronic pain
✔ Self-care strategies that support both physical and mental wellbeing
✔ Guidance from our community health nurses and allied health professionals, with expertise across dietetics, movement, mental health and medication support

You don’t have to navigate chronic pain alone — this program is about connection, confidence and care that meets you where you’re at.

February is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Every year in Australia, around 1,900 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer - often at an advanced stage when it’s harder to treat. That’s why raising awareness matters.

This month, we’re joining the movement to educate, advocate and elevate voices affected by ovarian cancer.

🔹 Know the signs: persistent bloating, pelvic or abdominal pain, feeling full quickly, frequent urination and other subtle symptoms should not be ignored.
🔹 There’s no early detection screening test, so talking to your GP about symptoms that are new, persistent or unusual is important.
🔹 Wear teal this February to spark conversations and support those impacted.

Together we can help raise awareness, support families, and push for progress in research and care.

Back to School 2026: Fit Feet = Fit Kids! 👣

As the new school year kicks off, Macedon Ranges Health is reminding families just how important well-fitting shoes are for children’s health, comfort and development. This Back to School season, we’re shining a spotlight on the role proper footwear plays in supporting growing bodies.

Fit Feet = Fit Kids encourages choosing the right shoes for the right activities, helping children stay active, confident and focused, whether they’re learning in the classroom, playing on the playground or taking part in sport.

We encourage families to take a moment to check their child’s footwear, from ensuring the correct fit to keeping an eye on any foot or movement concerns. Starting the year with the right shoes can make a big difference to comfort, posture and long-term foot health.

Let’s work together to support healthy, happy feet for every child in our community!
