High Calcium casued by Hyperparathyroidism ….

This disease is much more common than people think and is overlooked by many doctors.

GESA or Gastroenterology Society of Australia is the governing board on guidelines for follow up surveillance colonoscopy after polyps are detected.

The guidelines are followed by most clinicians in Australia.

If you have been told that you have polyps, it is important to know the number, size and type of polyps to determine the interval for your next colonoscopy.

** EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES **

If you are over 45, the government will send you this kit for bowel cancer screening for occult (invisible) blood in the stools.

If you don’t receive a kit, your GP can arrange one for you free of charge.

If you have a strong family history of colon or re**al cancer, you may need a colonoscopy at a younger age rather than a stool test at age 45 and your GP will advise you.

Bowel cancer is curable if detected early, so don’t wait for symptoms which may be too late - get a screening test.
