gladstoneregionalcouncil Region Watch Dashboad is a great way to stay informed for localised road conditions and weather warnings if you are out and about this weekend:

⛈️🚔
06/03/2026

⛈️🚔

With rain expected over the next couple of days, we are reminding the community, to take extra care on the roads.

Rain reduces visibility and makes roads slippery, which means vehicles take longer to stop and the risk of losing control increases. 🌧️

If you’re heading out, remember to:
👉 Slow down and drive to the conditions
👉 Leave more space between you and the car in front
👉 Turn your headlights on so others can see you
👉 Allow extra travel time

For information relating to any road closures, please visit: https://qldtraffic.qld.gov.au/

A few weeks ago, Lachy headed out to Woorabinda for a service information day.

It was a great chance to connect with local services, have a yarn with community members and elders, and share a bit about what headspace Gladstone offers for young people and their families.

Days like these are a great reminder of how important it is for services and communities to stay connected and support each other. Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a chat and made the day so welcoming 💚

Today our team had the privilege of learning about the Holi Festival thanks to Ananya, who shared the meaning and traditions behind this vibrant celebration. Holi, often called the Festival of Colours, marks the arrival of spring and symbolises renewal, joy, and the triumph of good over negativity. Across many communities, people celebrate by gathering together, sharing food, music, laughter and colourful powders that represent happiness, unity and new beginnings. For our young people, learning about Holi was an opportunity to experience culture, connection and colourful creativity, we explored how traditions from around the world can bring people together and showcase that diversity is something to celebrate. A big thank you to Ananya for sharing her culture and helping create a space where our young people can learn, ask questions and connect with traditions beyond their own.

Wishing everyone a Happy Holi and a day filled with joy, colours and laughter 💛🌈

Holi, often known as the Festival of Colours, is a vibrant Hindu celebration that marks the arrival of spring in the northern hemisphere, the triumph of good over evil, and the power of love and connection. Traditionally celebrated across India and in communities around the world, it’s a time when people gather with family and friends, share food and laughter, and throw colourful powders as a symbol of joy and new beginnings.

May this Holi bring brightness, renewal and meaningful connections with family, friends and community. ✨
