Horses have been part of my life from a young age and still are in my 60's. They have helped me to be a better person and to get through some very hard times in my life.
They continue to help me every day. 🐎
I am very grateful for what they have given me and now I am giving back to them as a holistic horse therapist 🙏☯️

For those who were raised by horses.... 🐴

Some people go through life
never knowing what it feels like
to love a horse.

Not just ride one.
Not just admire one.
But love one
in that deep, wordless, life-altering way
that changes the shape of your heart forever.

Horse people know.
We know what it means
to grow up in a barn,
to measure time by seasons and shows,
to learn courage in the saddle
and patience on the ground.

We know what it means
to be taught by an animal
who never speaks a single word
yet somehow understands more about us
than most people ever will.

Horses become part of your soul.
They teach you how to breathe
on the days when everything feels heavy.
They teach you how to trust
in a world that hasn’t always earned it.
They teach you how to stand tall
even when you’re shaking inside.

They see the parts of you
you don’t want the world to see—
the fear,
the doubt,
the hope,
the quiet dreams you only whisper
into a warm, waiting neck.

There’s a love between a horse and a human
that doesn’t fade.
It doesn’t weaken.
It doesn’t grow distant with time.

It settles into your bones
like something ancient and true.

Because horses aren’t just animals.
They’re the safe place you run to
when life feels too loud.
They’re the steady heartbeat
in a world that won’t stop spinning.
They are
freedom,
healing,
home—
all wrapped into one gentle, powerful being.

You can explain it to people
who have never loved a horse…
but they’ll never really understand
why one touch of a velvet muzzle
can undo you,
or why one soft nicker
can make your entire day lighter.

They won’t understand
why you still remember the smell of the barn
more clearly than the sound of your own childhood,
or why your best memories
are measured in hoofbeats.

But horse people understand.
We always do.
We carry these animals with us—
in our stories,
in our scars,
in our victories,
and in the quiet places
where the deepest parts of our hearts live.

Loving a horse is not a hobby.
It’s a way of being.
A way of breathing.
A way of becoming
who you were always meant to be.

And if you’ve ever been loved
by even one good horse…
you already know:
you are changed
for life.

Did you grow up with horses?

COMPARATIVE ANATOMY

Comparative Anatomy is a big deal with horses, and it’s an energetic relationship.
Being reflective of YOUR BODY is crucial to communicating to the horse what your intention is. This is true in groundwork, riding, bodywork, and deeper intuitive communication.
If you want your horse to flex and engage through the right hind, you should feel it first in your right hip/leg and send the feeling of the movement. Good horse/ rider partners do this almost invisibly, but the intention is very strong and clear.
Stretching is the same; give the horse the exact feeling in your body that you’re asking the horse to exhibit and be specific even left/right matters. It’s the energetic essence/feel the horse responds to, but displaying even an exaggerated movement in your body will also work.
A common example for me is reassessing a severe forehand torsion after working through all the deeper vascular, nerves, organs, bone, lymph etc. The assessment is a foreleg Range-of-Motion ROM stretch to observe if the scapula is freed up and slides down and away from the withers. This simple (all complicated scenarios end up with modest conclusions) ROM is the gold standard for forehand assessment. Here I stand in front of the horse and send the feeling, or movement of my scapula moving away from my spine; then when I pick up the foot, the horse effortlessly performs the movement. There is no deep trying, just ALLOWING the movement.
Human horse mirroring is perhaps the pinnacle expression of comparative anatomy. It is here that equus chooses to acquire reflective path/physical dysfunctions from their human, if you have a pancreas issue as dominate, your horse likely does as well. Many organs and most bones are paired, and when a horse tells me it’s a mirror of their human, I know what comparative structure it is but not necessarily left or right. Often horses will take on issues on their right (connective) side even when it’s on the left side of their human.
Play with sending precise movements in your body to your horse and see what changes. This is a central way equus communicates, and is essential to becoming a great rider, companion, or therapeutic practitioner.
If you desire deeper exploration this is taught in my foundation through the Osteopathy classes.

Struggling with your mental health can feel extremely isolating - you're torn between wanting to seek help, feeling like nobody will understand you, and also, not wanting to be a burden to anyone.
But did you know that 1 in 2 Australians will struggle with their mental health at some point in their lifetime? Anyone can struggle with it for numerous reasons. And you don't have to do it alone - although your experience is unique to you, we can still share the same struggles with others, people do understand. And you are definitely not a burden.
When we watch horses, we notice that they are rarely alone. They typically don't like to be alone, they are herd animals after all. They have their close herd mates, they have their best friends. They seek out one another, they do things together and they know that they are stronger, safer and happier together.
And we are no different.
You don't have to struggle alone. We aren't meant to struggle alone. But we know it can be hard to open up and trust others, when you've been through so much trauma yourself. But do know, your 'herd' is there - it just might not be who you think it is.
Maybe it's your family. Maybe it's your friends. Maybe it's others who are going through the same thing. Or it could be your classmates or coworkers. Maybe it's your therapist and treatment team. Or maybe, it might not be human at all. Maybe you find support in animals, in nature. Just know, there is always support for you.
Sometimes animals can be easier to open up to, that is one of the benefits of equine therapy. They don't judge, they don't talk back. So maybe, if you're struggling to open up, maybe working with animals might help get you started.
Whatever it is you're going through, just know you don't have to do it alone.
You never do.

Hope everyone is coping in this crazy weather!! 🌧

I have been enjoying having more time at home with my beautiful old loyal girl 🐶
My velcro heart dog Molly Moo ❤️

But like I have been saying all summer! At least we haven't had the bush fires! Which was a threat early in summer🔥 we have full tanks, dams and grass growing! 🙏

But all this wet weather and green grass can bring lots of problems in our horses and dogs unfortunately 😕🐴🐶

So please keep a close eye on them! Especially the oldies! Keep their immune system healthy so they can cope and be healthy for the change of season. 🥶🐴🐶

Please feel free to get in contact with me for any questions on how to help, to get your horses and dogs ready for the colder weather, or any problems they may have now 🙏☯️

I hope you all have a lovely Easter! stay safe and don't forget dogs can't eat chocolate. 🙏☯️🐶🐴❤️🐰

Already half way through February!! Hope you have all had a good start to 2024.It certainly has been a hot humid summer!...

Already half way through February!!
Hope you have all had a good start to 2024.
It certainly has been a hot humid summer! 🥵 with lots of flys and mosquito's and all the other pests 🪰🦟 with them come skin issues with our horses and dogs.
But also virus's that they carry and can pass on. It is advisable to keep your horses and dogs on a good mineral and oil supplements to boost their immune system to fight off, or help with any problems that can occur. 💪
Jump on the website or contact me if you would like more information on any of the products, or information on the Therapies that I offer 🙏☯️ Just a reminder that I stock H**p For Horses products here for anyone local. Or if I treat your horse out of the local area I am happy to drop off when I am out your way 😊 Looking forward to catching up and helping to keep you all Healthy and Happy 🙏☯️🐴🐶 💚
