Lincoln had a great night in Toowoomba yesterday! It was fantastic catching up with the next generation of beef producers as part of the Angus Australia QLD Production Tour.

A big thanks to the organisers and everyone who came along always a pleasure to share insights, hear fresh perspectives, and talk all things genetics, performance, and the future of the Angus breed.

🌟 Teamwork makes the dream work! 🌟

Well what a week for Wise Repro! Our dedicated team on the road have been busy smashing out bull testing and kickstarting spring joining work! Meanwhile, the Ced Wise AB Services Centre is in the thick of AI, donor programs and collecting a whopping 5,632 straws in centre this week!

Rocky Repro Pty Ltd has followed tune with AV collections in full swing and the lab processing an incredible 9,668 straws this week alone all while also cranking out morphology reports like champions!

But wait there is more! Wise Breeding Services team had over 300 of our contract recipients through the yards for client embryo implants in the last two days!

We couldn't be prouder of our entire Wise Repro family! From the team on the road to the legends in centres and the paddocks at home, everyone's hard work truly shines. It’s been a massive week, and it's no wonder the boss is smiling, although that might just be the beer behind the camera! 🍻

Ced & Rowena have been making the trek north to the green hills of the Atherton Tablelands for many years now. Having entered the stud cattle game back in 1964, the Pearce family have worked tirelessly and meticulously to create their highly-impressive Telpara Hills Brangus & Ultrablacks herd, using the best genetics from all over the world.
The Wise Repro, Rocky Repro and Ced Wise AB Services team feel honoured to be the bovine reproduction professionals the Pearce family entrust with their stock. We wish them all the very best for their upcoming sale on Saturday 20th September.

Without reproductive technologies, your best cow might be lucky to have 12 calves in her lifetime, half of which might be female. That's just 6 she leaves behind. It's a slow way to build a herd.
However, with ET and IVF you can easily do that in a year. In a few years, those 6 can have 6 more each, and a snowball effect happens and your herd is rocketed forward.

Ced and his team at Wise Repro as well as IGT have been instrumental in building the herd at Telpara Hills, which is why we can offer so many superior animals, especially heifers which other herds cannot afford to let go.

Ced has been part of the Telpara Family for many years, conducting countless embryo transfer programmes over the years, semen testing, and endless amounts of support and advice.

Using Artificial Insemination is the start. It's step one in an instant improvement, but if you really want to advance your herd you have to use both sides of the genetic equation, multiplying your best cows.

These days we are doing more and more work with IGT as IVF has become very successful, but ET still has it's place.

We also work closely with Rocky Repro with our semen arm, Telpara Global Genetics.

We are very fortunate to have them in our industry and thank them very much for their support over the years.

We were honoured to sponsor last week's Australian Wagyu Association Regional Workshop in Emerald. The team loved catching up with Wagyu breeders and industry representatives from all over Queensland, and were excited to discuss how Wise Repro's partnership with the AWA Progeny Test Program could benefit producers.

We especially enjoyed the hands-on nature of the workshop, from navigating DNA and registration processes during the Helical training, to exploring selection indexes using MateSel (with help from Laine from Marathon Wagyu). And did we mention the steak? The steak was pretty good too!

Earlier this year George completed bovine AV semen collection training at Xcell Breeding Services Ltd in New Zealand. Rocky Repro now has the facilities and equipment to offer this specialised service.

Wise Repro is focused on combining the best techniques for maximum results and efficiency with the extra care and attention we’re known for. Thanks to the generosity of our friends across the ditch, the newly acquired skills are already benefiting the Australian cattle industry.

It was fantastic catching up with clients and a range of industry representatives in both Tamworth and Toowoomba for the Wagyu Workshops over the past couple of weeks. Congratulations to Australian Wagyu Association on two very successful events, we cant wait for the next one!

Great conversations were had around capabilities, upcoming plans & projects, and the fast-approaching bull sale & breeding season.

The Wise Repro team found both workshops incredibly insightful — it’s always valuable to stay on the pulse of innovation and hear about breed direction so we can continue adapting our services to suit.

We’re now off to Brisbane for the EKKA this week, then heading to Emerald for another Wagyu Workshop on 26th August. If you're attending or spot anyone from the Wise Repro family, make sure to come say hi!
