Sexed Semen Processing Now Available at Glen Aplin

Following a new partnership with STgenetics, we’re pleased to announce that sexed semen processing is now available at our Glen Aplin facility. Week 1 is complete with some great results!

To mark the commencement of semen processing in our brand new, state-of-the-art facility, the Ced Wise AB Services team was supported this week by senior staff from Rocky Repro - Chris, George and Bano. Working collaboratively in the laboratory with Ada and Aparna from STgenetics.

It’s safe to say by the smile on Ced's face, it has been a proud month seeing the new laboratory come to life. This expansion represents an exciting step forward and enables Wise Repro to better support our clients in maximising genetic impact and improving breeding efficiency.

It was a pleasure to host an outstanding group of young guns from Simmental QLD Beefing Up the Next Generation Junior Event at Wise Repro last week.

The group toured our Minitube International state-of-the-art equipped processing laboratory, explored our expanded bull accommodation, and gained a behind-the-scenes look at the reproductive technologies and processes that help producers wanting to unleash the power of genetics across the beef industry.

Seeing the curiosity, engagement, and ambition from this next generation of cattle breeders and industry leaders reinforces just how bright the future of Australian beef really is.

The Wise Repro team traded repro tools for steak knives last week!

Some of our crew from Rocky and Glen Aplin headed to Brisbane for this year’s Australian Wagyu Association Branded Beef Competition, where we proudly returned as sponsors of this iconic industry event.

Over three days, the team helped judge some of the best Wagyu steaks in the country, there were tingling taste buds, very full bellies, and plenty of debate over the incredible entries.

We’re passionate about supporting the Wagyu sector from paddock to plate, and it was a privilege to be involved once again.

🥩✨ A huge congratulations to AWA and all the exhibitors, we can't wait to see who takes out the title.

We’re excited to share a major development for breeders across the region.

STgenetics Australia BEEF will operate its sexed semen sorting technology onsite at Glen Aplin from late January through to April 2026. This means producers in southern QLD and northern NSW will have direct access to high-precision sexed semen sorting locally, a significant advantage for herds rebuilding female numbers or targeting specific breeding outcomes 🧬🐂

This partnership reflects exactly what the new facility was built for, bringing advanced capability closer to the regions that drive Australia’s beef industry and strengthening the pipeline for genetic progress.

Our new laboratory at Glen Aplin 🐂✨ is up and running. It marks a major step forward for across and .

This purpose-built facility brings together the latest Minitube Australia technology🔬 expanded bull accommodation and a custom-built AV collection yard designed for low-stress, high-quality collection ✔️ It means greater capacity, smoother workflows and reliable reproductive outcomes for producers right across the region🚀

And we’re only just getting started 🌱
Next stages include accommodation for visiting specialists and students and a dedicated Embryo and Research Lab to support hands-on training and industry partnerships.

What a milestone for our family business 🌟
We’ve just opened a new state-of-the-art semen processing laboratory at Glen Aplin, our biggest expansion in 40 years. Standing on the granite belt and seeing this project finally come to life has been incredibly humbling. This next chapter is built on decades of hard work, resilience and the trust of producers who have supported us along the way 🧬

Ced, his wife Rowena and his three children Adam, Jess and Aaron have each poured so much of themselves into Wise Repro. Watching the next generation step confidently into their roles has been one of the most meaningful parts of this journey for our family 💛

To everyone who has backed us, thank you. This milestone belongs to all who have played a part in our story.And with further expansion still to come, Glen Aplin is on track to become an important centre for bovine reproduction, training and innovation.
