FREE Mammograms Coming to Our Community! 🩷🌸

The BreastScreen NSW mobile screening unit is heading to Emmaville and Glen Innes to provide mammograms for local women.

Did you know that breast cancer affects 1 in 7 women in NSW?

Yet 9 out of 10 women who develop it have no family history.

Early detection saves lives – a quick mammogram can find changes before they can be seen or felt, making treatment far more effective.

Would you like to get more involved in your community?

Council’s Community Committees are a great way to meet people, share your ideas, and support the facilities, projects, and activities across our region. They help look after community spaces and local initiatives throughout the LGA, and anyone who’d like to contribute their time, experience, or local knowledge is welcome to get involved!

🗓️Upcoming AGMs
A number of Annual General Meetings are coming up. All meeting dates and the forms you need are available on Council’s website, so you can easily see which committee you might like to be part of.

1. Start by completing the Nomination for Membership form.
2. Return the form in one of these ways:

Christmas Day for Life Choices🎄

While many people were spending Christmas Day with their families, LC-SS was there to support participants who required assistance.

This included delivering hot meals, supporting personal care and medication needs, and transporting participants to local nursing homes, so they could spend Christmas with their loved ones.

This support helped ensure participants’ essential care needs were met, but also helped ease feelings of isolation, making sure everyone felt safe, valued and connected during the festive period.

We'd like to sincerely acknowledge our Direct Support Worker Noeline, who worked on Christmas Day to provide this support.

Noeline’s professionalism and commitment reflect the values of Life Choices Support Services and the important role frontline workers play in supporting community members. Thank you, Noeline.
