The intense and uneven pulsing you noticed is actually a sign of her reactive, compensating muscles at work. Her offside sacroiliac injury has shifted extra strain through her nearside front end and neck, so those areas naturally responded more during the PEMF session.

Essentially, the pulses are highlighting where the muscles are tight or overloaded. This is completely normal and usually settles down as circulation improves, tension releases and her nervous system relaxes. 🔋

✨ Before & After – PEMF Results ✨

The first photo was taken before any PEMF treatment. Tulip took a hard hit, resulting in a large pectoral hematoma with obvious swelling and muscle disruption.

The second photo is after just 3 PEMF sessions 👏🏼
You can see a clear reduction in swelling, improved muscle definition and overall tissue recovery already well underway.

PEMF works by supporting circulation, reducing inflammation and encouraging the body’s natural healing process and results like this speak for themselves.

Tense or nervous horses often hold their muscles tight for long periods instead of fully relaxing. This constant contraction reduces blood flow, limits oxygen delivery and allows waste products to build up, leading to stiffness and soreness.

Stress hormones also increase muscle tightness and prevent proper recovery after work. Over time, this tension causes uneven movement patterns and overloaded muscles.

Break down of what some releases could mean during your horses pulse session: ⤵️

Yawning during PEMF:
• Indicates the parasympathetic nervous system is activating
• Common when PEMF is working through the neck, poll, jaw or spine
• Shows mental and physical tension is letting go

Farting / gut sounds:
• PEMF stimulates circulation to organs
• The digestive system “wakes back up” once stress drops
• A sign of full-body relaxation

Blowing, snorting, snot release:
• Release of sinus, chest or emotional tension
• Increased circulation can thin mucus and allow it to drain
• Often follows deeper breaths or a big sigh

Jaw stretching, licking, chewing:
• Release through the TMJ and cranial nerves.
• Indicates acceptance, relaxation and processing
• Very common when PEMF is run over the head, neck or withers

Stretching, dropping the head, soft eyes:
• Muscles letting go of chronic holding patterns
