Our Essential Triage course is a predominantly small group discussion, presentation, and scenario-based program, designed to allow trainees to master the clinical skills and knowledge required to Triage Patients effectively, safely, and efficiently across the Lifespan in the many varied healthcare settings, using the Australian Triage score.

We have now updated our course to include Physical Assessment, which takes participants through the primary & secondary survey, with a detailed focus on chest and abdominal assessment.

* Advanced Life Support 2 (with ALS1 exit point if required) - with optional HLTAID009 Provide CPR certification
* RAEC - Remote Area Emergency Course- 2-day program (equivalent to the REC)

Our Feb/March suite of courses are coming up fast! Here is a list of what to bring to your FIFO Medical Essentials Course, as well as some tips before you arrive!
-Your water bottle.
-(for the 4 ALS type courses) - Do the pre-reading, it really does help, and there’s modules and pre tests to complete.
-A pen and a work book; though we are hands on, there’s still theory to get through.
-A warm jacket. (our air-con can get pretty cold)
-A hat, not just your thinking cap, we do go outside.
-A good attitude, we're all here to learn and grow.
-Teamwork skills; your team is what will help you the most!
-Your networking information; so many people from all walks of life join our course, sharing experiences and ideas.

HLTPAT005 – COLLECT SPECIMENS FOR DRUGS OF ABUSE TESTING
This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to confirm collection requirements, prepare client and equipment, and collect specimens via urine and/or oral fluid, and breath testing.

Day off here in Mirlirrtjarra / Warburton. Meetings with the local Health leaders planning potential future trips, meeting some of the Elders and their awesome artwork, and checking out the local caves.
