If you are wanting to have a normal pregnancy and birth, meaning no intervention, as natural and normal as possible - the Australian hospital system is not the choice that supports that! It’s just not!

Every time new evidence and statistics are released this statement seems to become even more true!

The 2022 Australian women and babies report has been published and the statistics contained within the report are just heartbreaking (see slides for snapshots)

The fact is we as Australian women need to stand up for our rights, make empowered choices and reclaim our power - the power lies with us. It always has and always will!

Through self empowerment, strength and trust we have the power to stand up against the bullsh*t that is occurring within the Australian hospital system.

If every woman who desires to birth naturally made the decision to birth outside of the system, to believe in the strength, power and ability of her body and to turn inwards instead of outwards - the governing bodies and institutions would have no choice but to listen!

The power had always been with the birthing woman, it’s time we remember and reclaim what is rightfully ours!

Let me tell you a story about a woman truly connected to her body
She knew what to do, she knew what was needed to birth her baby
She followed her intuition
She followed the pull that led her in a direction different to what she had imagined her birth to be because something greater told her that was the way.
And can you guess what happened when she followed this pull, this knowing?

She birthed her baby
She listened
She trusted
And in that moment she stepped into her power
She stepped into her knowing
She heard the call and she listened
She did not falter
She did not question
⠀
This connection, this knowing may not have been present before she entered the birth portal.
The art of listening and trusting her body may have been new to her but anyone witnessing her magic wouldn’t hesitate in calling her strong, powerful, all knowing

This is the essence of a woman
This is the essence of a birthing woman
To listen
To trust
To know her body and her instincts will forever guide her to where she needs to be

Pregnancy demands we look deeper...
deeper into ourselves, our traumas, our conditioning
Wounds we thought were healed, resurface
Beliefs we believe to have unlearned, return
Triggers we had processed, re-emerge

Pregnancy demands this of us
Not to test or weaken us
But to show us there is more available to us
More to uncover
More to learn
More to bring to the light
More to release
More to surrender
More space to be made

Pregnancy seeks to make more space within us
Space for a new soul to be birthed
Space to support the merging of worlds
Space for complete expansion of self

Pregnancy asks us to look at ourselves in a way we never have before…

Often women who are planning a homebirth are questioned and even ridiculed for their choices...
⠀
‘I could never do that’
‘What if something goes wrong?’
‘Isn’t it safer to birth at the hospital?’
⠀
These are the stories others tell themselves out of fear
Fear of the unknown
Fear learned through society
Intergenerational fear
⠀
And in some cases, these stories arise from a triggered place
A place where judgement is the mask that hides envy and desire...
Envy of wanting that experience
Desire to follow their heart and be an empowered woman
Desire to have deep self-connection and trust

Regardless of the reasons behind the judgements - they are misplaced and uninformed
Evidence tells us that homebirth IS safe
Evidence shows us that there is NO difference in negative outcomes between intended home birth and hospital birth for both woman and baby
Evidence shows us that planning a home birth DOUBLES the likelihood of having a vaginal birth

With the rates of interventions and caesarean sections increasing within the hospital system, home birth supports women to birth in a way that nurtures their whole self – physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual
We know birthing at home is safe
Women show us this
Evidence tells us this
Our ancestors knew only this

When we feel safe to take up space
When we feel deeply connected to our voice
When we feel completely in touch with ourselves
Our knowing, our essence

This magic is real
