As of November 1, 2025, Medicare has introduced a new rebate for specialised pelvic ultrasounds (MBS item 55080) - designed to support the diagnosis of complex gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis and pelvic floor disorders.

This new rebate acknowledges the time and expertise that goes into advanced pelvic scans, which is a big move toward better detection of conditions that have often gone undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for years. It’s a significant milestone for women’s healthcare in Australia, acknowledging the complexity of these conditions and helping improve access, affordability and early diagnosis for countless women.

Parkwood will be CLOSED next week on Monday and Tuesday, due to some roof repairs required after Cyclone Alfred. The clinic will reopen on Wednesday 21st.

This means our Drop-In Pregnancy Assessment Clinic will be unavailable across these two days. Our Greenslopes and Wesley clinics will be open as normal, so please reach out to them for any urgent matters or enquiries.
