We offer a very unique opportunity and welcome clients to experience Equine Assisted Therapy/ Learning within our herd of beautiful caring mares and foals. Our herd has been an integral and supportive part of our lives for many years and has assisted us to not only overcome life’s challenges but to thrive in the valuable skills developed in their wake. Horses are beautiful, sensitive and intelligent animals and often evoke feelings and emotions we previously had little awareness of thus allowing us to see, feel and reach and develop areas within us. By focusing on developing and strengthen our supports and resources we are able to build the skills required for life’s challenges. The horses within our herd are calm, respectful, happy, well adjusted and very connected with people. We view them as part of our family and we are viewed as part of their herd and this is very evident in the response from them in the warm caring manner they express when they see us. Horses live in the present moment, in awareness and authentic contact, when living in a herd environment. These capacities are profoundly important for human health and wellness – the capacity to live in the present, be aware and create and maintain healthy, honest and creative relationships

🌟 The Power of Small Goals in the New Year 🌟

As we welcome a new year, there's often a wave of pressure to set big, ambitious goals. While it’s great to dream big, let’s not forget the importance of small goals! 🚀

Setting massive goals can sometimes feel overwhelming and may lead us into a cycle of disappointment when we don't achieve them. This can affect our self-worth and motivation, leaving us feeling stuck or frustrated.

Instead, consider breaking those big dreams into smaller, more manageable objectives. Here’s why small goals matter:

1️⃣ Achievable Wins: Small goals give you quick wins that boost your confidence and keep you motivated to continue.

2️⃣ Maintain Momentum: By setting and achieving smaller milestones, you create a sense of progress and accomplishment, fueling your desire to push further.

3️⃣ Reduce Pressure: Smaller goals reduce the pressure of expectations and allow you to enjoy the journey, rather than just focusing on the end result.

4️⃣ Flexibility: When you set small goals, it’s easier to adjust and realign them as life changes, keeping you on a positive path.

This New Year, let’s focus on building a solid foundation with small, achievable goals. They’re stepping stones to bigger dreams! 🌱✨

Share your small goals below, and let’s support each other on this journey together! 💪❤️

🌟 Understanding Social Anxiety During the Holidays 🌟

Social anxiety often stems from a complex mix of factors, including genetics, brain chemistry, personality traits (like shyness), and life experiences—think bullying or humiliation. This leads to a fear of negative judgment in social situations, which can be reinforced by negative thinking patterns. It's rarely due to one single cause; rather, it’s a combination of family history, childhood temperament, awkward past events, and even pressure from social media.

As we approach Christmas, many people find their social anxiety can intensify. The holiday season, filled with gatherings and celebrations, can heighten feelings of unease and fear. Here are some top tips to help manage social anxiety during this time:

Plan Ahead: Prepare for social events by thinking about topics to discuss or questions to ask. This can ease the pressure of coming up with conversation on the spot.

Set Realistic Expectations: Understand that it's okay to feel anxious. Don’t pressure yourself to be perfect. Everyone has their own insecurities.

Practice Mindfulness: Engage in mindfulness or relaxation techniques to calm your mind before and during events. Deep breathing exercises can be particularly helpful.

Limit Social Media: Take breaks from social media. It can often amplify feelings of inadequacy and pressure to conform.

Reach Out for Support: Talk to a friend or family member about how you're feeling. Sometimes just sharing your concerns can help alleviate anxiety.

Use Positive Affirmations: Challenge negative thoughts with positive affirmations. Remind yourself of your strengths and accomplishments.

Start Small: If large gatherings feel overwhelming, start with smaller get-togethers where you can build your confidence gradually.

Remember, it’s okay to take things one step at a time. You’re not alone in feeling this way, especially during the festive season. Let’s support each other in navigating social situations with kindness and understanding! 🎄✨

🌟 Holiday Season Emotional Wellbeing 🌟

The holiday season can be a time of joy, but it can also bring a mix of emotions. Here are some tips on how to manage your feelings during this festive time:

Acknowledge Your Emotions: It’s okay to feel a range of emotions. Taking time to recognize and accept how you feel is the first step towards managing those feelings.

Set Boundaries: The holidays can be overwhelming. Don’t hesitate to say no to events or commitments that cause stress. Prioritize what makes you happy.

Practice Self-Care: Make time for yourself. Whether it’s reading a book, taking a walk, or enjoying a hot bath, self-care is essential.

Stay Connected: Reach out to friends and family. Sharing your feelings can lighten the emotional load and strengthen your connections.

Focus on Gratitude: Take a moment to reflect on what you're thankful for. A gratitude practice can shift your mindset and boost your mood.

Seek Support: If feelings become too overwhelming, consider talking to a professional. It's okay to ask for help.

Remember, it's okay to feel differently during the holidays. Embrace your feelings and take care of your emotional health. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy holiday season! ❤️✨

🌟 What a TRANSFORMATIONAL Confidence & Connection Retreat! 🌟

I was absolutely thrilled to co-facilitate this incredible experience with the inspirational horsewoman Tanja Kraus. Many of you know how Tanja has been instrumental in my own horsemanship journey, so it was a true privilege to share our passions, experiences, and knowledge together.

Words can hardly capture the profound journey for our lovely group and their beautiful horses embarked on. It's still giving me goosebumps thinking about those precious moments as layers were peeled away, revealing deeper connections through the wisdom we shared. 🚀

Hosted at the breath-taking 'Advaita,' nestled between the majestic Lamington & Springbrook National Parks, the retreat beautifully blended horse and human psychology and physiology. We explored how to weave these elements together through the power of the mind, body, and spirit to enhance the horse-human bond. ❤️

We all enjoyed nature walks, refreshing waterfall dips, delicious nutritious food, individual equine assisted therapy sessions with your own horse, neuro-art therapy, among so much more. Beth we all loved your art session BYS Graphic Design & Illustration! Still completely blown away with Tanja Kraus Horsemanship showing us the magic of the Meridian method with the horses. A massive thank you to Lynne, Duncan, and their dedicated team for preparing and welcoming us so warmly. 🙏

Our goal was to provide an immersive, life-changing experience filled with personal support and practical tools for true transformation—and I know we well and truly achieved that! The amazing feedback from everyone was overwhelming. I am VERY EXCITED to announce that we will be holding more of these retreats next year with Tanja! Stay tuned! 🎉🐴

If your inspired to host in your area or attend one of them just reach out to Tanja or myself.

🌟 As we approach the end of the year, I want to take a moment to recognize that this season can evoke a whirlwind of emotions. For some, it’s a time filled with warmth, connection, and a sense of belonging. For others, it can bring feelings of grief, loss, loneliness, tension, or exhaustion. Many experience a beautiful blend of all these emotions.

No matter where you find yourself this season, whether feeling joy or stress, love or sadness, gratitude or weariness, thank you for being part of the Nurtured By Nature and Ricinda Ranch community. Your ongoing support and willingness to engage—online, on our page, and in person—truly inspire me. It’s been a privilege to share this journey with you throughout 2025.

As we look forward to the New Year, I wish you clarity, kindness (to yourself and others), and the courage to pursue what truly matters, even when the path is challenging.

I remain committed to providing compassionate, practical, and grounded support for all of those inspiring people I get the privilege to work alongside either with individual client work, group sessions as well as collaboration work with organisations

I can’t wait to continue this work together in the year ahead and have some very exciting programs planned.

Take care, stay safe and remember that taking time for you is an essential part of maintaining balance! 💚

🌟 The Power of Journaling for Mental Well-being 📝

As a tool I encourage my clients to use journalling as a creative practice to help them create deeper understanding and clarity! I often get asked 'How Do I Journal?' There is no right or wrong thats for sure as we all have our own way. It creates a private space to process emotions, reduce stress, and gain self-awareness.

Here’s why it matters:

* Understanding Thought Patterns: Journaling helps you gain clarity on your feelings and thoughts, facilitating deeper self-understanding.

* Improving Mood: By externalizing internal chaos, it fosters resilience and a sense of control, much like talking to a non-judgmental friend.

* Organising Thoughts: Writing things down can help you track your feelings, solve problems, and find solutions more effectively.

* Reducing Stress: Research shows that journaling can lower stress hormones like cortisol, making it a powerful and accessible tool for overall well-being and emotional regulation.

Whether you write daily or whenever inspiration strikes, journaling can transform your mental health journey.

🌟 Unlocking Creativity: How Our Brain Functions During Creative Tasks 🌟

Did you know that when we dive into creative activities, our brains come alive in astonishing ways? 🧠✨ Here’s a closer look at how different areas within our brain work together to foster creativity and the benefits that come with it!

🔍 Brain Activation:

Creative thinking lights up multiple regions of the brain, not just the right hemisphere (traditionally linked with creativity) but also significant areas in the left hemisphere.

The prefrontal cortex, crucial for decision-making and planning, plays a vital role in our creative processes.

The default mode network kicks in when we're at rest, proving that daydreaming and letting our minds wander can lead to those spark-of-genius moments! 💭💡

A dynamic interaction between the brain's executive network and imagination network highlights the balance between focused thoughts and free-flowing creativity. 🎨✨

🚀 Benefits of Engaging in Creative Tasks:

Enhanced Problem-Solving: Creative thinking opens up new pathways and solutions.

Improved Mental Well-Being: Engaging in creative activities can reduce stress and promote happiness.

Strengthened Cognitive Flexibility: Creativity encourages adaptable thinking, making it easier to shift perspectives.

So, whether you're painting, writing, or brainstorming new ideas, remember that your brain is hard at work, blending logic with imagination. Embrace your creative side! 🌈✍️

🧠 The Science Behind Visualization and Nervous System Calm 🌟

Have you ever wondered why visualisation techniques, like imagining a peaceful place, can effectively calm the nervous system? The answer lies in the fascinating interplay between our mind and body!

When we engage in visualisation, we're not just daydreaming; we're actively influencing our physiological state.

Here’s how it works:

* Neurobiological Engagement: Visualisation activates specific neural pathways in our brain. By imagining a calming scene, we send signals that stimulate relaxation response, leading to decreased heart rate and lower blood pressure.

* Amygdala Regulation: The amygdala, the part of our brain responsible for processing emotions and triggering stress responses, can be quieted through visualisation. When we focus on soothing imagery, we essentially train our brains to reduce anxiety and fear response.

* Stress Hormone Reduction: Visualisation can lower levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, in our body. By creating a mental image of safety and tranquility, we help our bodies feel secure, countering the effects of stress.

* Mind-Body Connection: Practices like visualisation reinforce the vital connection between mind and body. Regularly engaging in visualization can strengthen your self-regulation abilities, making it easier to handle stress and emotional challenges.

Therapeutic Applications: Visualisation techniques are utilized in various therapeutic settings, particularly in trauma therapy. They help individuals tap into experiences of safety and calm, providing essential tools for emotional healing.

The more we practice visualisation, the more adept we become at accessing a state of calm, no matter the circumstances. So take a moment today, close your eyes, and visualize your safe space. Remember, you're not just relaxing; you’re actively reshaping your nervous system for peace and resilience!

✨🌿 Embrace the power of your imagination!
