Gold Coast Progressive Respite & Disability Support

We offer Urgent, Emergency or Ongoing Overnight STA Respite Support 24/7. Rooms have free WiFi, Foxtel, Netflix and are filled with fresh air and natural light.

SHORT TERM ACCOMMODATION ASSISTANCE (RESPITE)

We offer 24-48 hour STA (Respite) for NDIS Participants. We use 4-5 star accommodation at the Meriton Suites Southport/Broadbeach or Mercure Carrara. Accommodation includes access to the fitness centre, sauna, indoor pool, spa and bbq areas. Suits have a fully equipped kitchen, full facilities for disabled access and personal care. We are treated with views of the Gold Coast hinterland and the surf beaches along the coastline. Respite can be booked for unlimited consecutive days and provides a real treat for clients compared to traditional respite. We offer a complementary Get To Know Each Other Meet & Greet, Complementary Ongoing Transport Including Pickup & Drop-offs. GENERAL DISABILITY SUPPORT

We offer hourly support for NDIS Participants 24/7. We have experience with Autism, OCD, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Brian Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Asperger’s, Prader Willi, Downs Syndrome and all levels of Intellectual Impairment. Our scope covers recreational & sports based activities, personal care for high needs clients, specific support for high spectrum complex needs clients, specific support for clients with all levels of Intellectual Impairment, delivering high quality client specific support and providing clients with daily living assistance in the home and assisting clients with community-based activities and appointments. We are based on the Gold Coast but for Overnight support we can also pickup & drop off Brisbane based clients. julian@progressiverespite.com.au

How to get STA in your NDIS Plan Like with any support, the NDIS will fund STA if it relates to one of your goals outlined in your NDIS Plan. These goals might be 'preparing to live independently', 'learning new life skills', or 'making new friends'. You will need to supply any evidence that makes it easier for the NDIS to understand why it’s reasonable and necessary for you to receive STA.
This could include formal documentation from an Occupational Therapist or other professional, as well as a letter from the people providing informal supports, explaining why they (and you) would benefit from a break. If you need longer term accommodation or at-home supports, other options such as Supported Independent Living are more likely to be included in your plan.

Under the NDIS, Short Term Accommodation (STA) is temporary supported accommodation for a period of 1-14 nights at a time. Available through the core funding of your NDIS plan.
Eligible NDIS participants can access STA for reasons like: A break from your informal supports, if you are waiting for home modifications if you or a loved one are recovering from an illness, a change in circumstances, or a crisis situation that puts the person a risk of homelessness or being prematurely placed into an age care facility.
