A podiatry appointment is more than just looking at where it hurts 🚫

We look at how you walk, your footwear, skin and nail health, pressure points and how everything works together. Pain in one area often has contributing factors elsewhere, which is why a full assessment matters.

Understanding the bigger picture helps us support comfort, movement and long term foot health 👣

Not all pedicures are cosmetic 👣
A medi pedi, also known as a medical pedicure, is about caring for your feet properly, not just how they look.

Performed by a podiatrist, a medi pedi focuses on safety, hygiene, and foot health rather than appearance. It includes professional nail and skin care and is tailored to your individual foot health needs.

A medi pedi may be suitable if you have foot pain, diabetes, thick or difficult to manage nails, or recurring foot issues. It’s also not just for older adults. Anyone wanting healthier, more comfortable feet can benefit.

A medi pedi isn’t about polish. It’s about foot health ✨

Foot pain myths can do more harm than good 👣

Many people delay care because of common misconceptions about foot pain. Over time, this can lead to worsening symptoms, reduced mobility, and unnecessary discomfort.

Understanding what is normal and what is not helps you make better decisions about your foot health and seek support before problems become harder to manage.

Accurate information and early care can make a real difference to comfort, confidence, and movement.

Why mobile podiatry matters 👣

Accessing healthcare is not always easy. For many seniors, NDIS participants, and people who are homebound, getting to a clinic can be physically challenging or simply not possible.

Mobile podiatry removes this barrier by bringing professional foot care directly to the patient’s home, aged care facility, or supported living environment. Care is delivered to the same clinical standard as in clinic appointments, in a familiar and comfortable setting.

Regular foot care plays an important role in mobility, balance, and independence. For those with chronic conditions or limited mobility, consistent care can help reduce discomfort, lower the risk of complications, and support everyday movement.

Mobile podiatry makes ongoing care accessible, consistent, and less stressful, helping people stay comfortable and supported where they are.

Heel spurs vs plantar fasciitis 🦶

They are often mentioned together, but they are not the same.

Plantar fasciitis affects the soft tissue along the bottom of the foot and commonly causes sharp heel pain, especially first thing in the morning.

Heel spurs are small bony growths on the heel bone. Many people have them without any pain at all.

In most cases, heel pain comes from irritated soft tissue rather than the spur itself. Understanding the difference helps guide the right care and avoids treating the wrong thing 👣

Not all heel pain is plantar fasciitis 🦶

Heel pain is often labelled as plantar fasciitis, but it is not always the full story.

Different conditions can cause similar symptoms, which means treating the wrong thing can slow recovery and lead to ongoing frustration.

A podiatrist can assess what is actually causing your heel pain and guide the right approach from the start. For those who prefer care at home, a mobile podiatrist can provide the same assessment in a familiar environment.

Understanding the cause is just as important as managing the pain.

Foot pain is not normal 👣

Ongoing discomfort is your body’s way of signalling that something is not quite right.

Pain that keeps coming back, feels worse in the morning, or changes how you walk should not be ignored. A podiatrist can help identify the cause early and prevent small issues from becoming long term problems.

For those who find it difficult to get to a clinic, a mobile podiatrist can provide the same care in the comfort of your own home.

Listening to your feet early makes a difference.

✨ Starting the New Year on the Right Foot

The days between Christmas and New Year always feel a little blurry. It is a mix of rest, slow moments and getting things ready for the year ahead.

It is also the perfect time to check in with your feet before routines pick back up again.

A few questions to ask yourself:
• Have you noticed new aches in your heels or arches recently?
• Have your shoes worn down more than you realised?
• Are you feeling more tired through your feet after summer activity?
• Have you been relying on thongs a little too often? (Most of us have!)

Small changes now can make a big difference when January arrives.
Supportive footwear, a few stretches and listening to your body all help set you up for a more comfortable start to the new year.
