You’ve probably heard the saying, “Your vibe attracts your tribe,” and it couldn’t be more true in the world of hairdressing. Clients walk into our salons not just for a haircut or colour but for an EXPERIENCE. And that experience is deeply influenced by the energy we bring into the salon.
Why is Your Mood and Energy So Important?
Clients are like energy sponges; they pick up on our moods and vibes even before we say a word. So, if you’re having an off day or carrying negative energy, they’re going to feel it. It can set the tone for their entire salon visit.
Think about it - when you walk into a room and someone’s beaming with positivity, doesn’t it lift your spirits? The same applies to our clients. When they step into our salon, they should be greeted by an energy that makes them feel valued, relaxed, and excited about their transformation.
💡 Shifting Your Energy
I’m not saying we need to be all smiles 24/7, because that’s not real life. We all have our ups and downs. But it’s about being AWARE of your energy and making a conscious effort to shift it if it’s not serving you or your clients.
Try some simple techniques to shift your energy:
Mindfulness: Take a few moments before each appointment to centre yourself. Breathe deeply and let go of any stress, negativity and tension in the body. Take 2-3 minutes to do this
Gratitude: Focus on something you’re grateful for. Gratitude can instantly boost your mood. Don’t just think of it as a past memory, relive it as if it is happening now and feel all the emotions of happiness you felt then.
Music: Play some uplifting or calming music in the background. Music has the power to change the atmosphere and set the right tone
