For years I thought: "Just fix my thyroid and I'll lose weight."

Wrong.

My thyroid wasn't the root problem.
My CORTISOL was throwing everything else off.

The cascade I didn't understand:
→ High cortisol blocks insulin (belly fat)
→ High cortisol blocks progesterone (anxiety, mood swings)
→ High cortisol pushes down estrogen (hot flashes, brain fog)
→ High cortisol slows thyroid (weight gain, hair loss)

I was treating symptoms. Not the cause.

When I finally addressed cortisol FIRST?
The thyroid started working.
The mood swings stopped.
The weight came off.

I used to think productive mornings meant:

Hour long gym sessions every day ✓
Skipping breakfast to "save calories" ✓
Exhausted by 10am ✓

Productive? Maybe.
Sustainable? No.
Effective for weight loss? Absolutely not.

My body was in constant stress mode.

Now my mornings look completely different:

15-min workout 3 x a week (yes, just 15 minutes)
Yin yoga or breathwork
Nourishing breakfast
Energised ALL day

Same goals. Different approach. Actually works.

The mistake? Thinking I had to earn my rest.

Rest isn't lazy. Rest is where fat burning happens.

My old morning routine:
9:00 am alarm
60min BOOT camp/ Strength class
Shower, coffee, crash by noon

Exhausted
Injured.
Not working.

At 41, I tested something that felt ridiculous:

15 minutes of light resistance - high intensity
Right after waking
Before coffee

The next day....
Sun salutations.

Ten years ago when my weight gain started, my default was: eat less.

I was already eating “healthy.” Just like most of my clients are.

But we do a few things that really don’t give us life back at all. They backfire.

Thing 1: We under-eat because we think less calories = more weight loss.
But here’s the twist - when your metabolism is slow, you don’t even FEEL hungry much. So you eat even less. Metabolism slows more. Vicious cycle.

Thing 2: We over-eat carb macros.
Most “healthy foods” are high carbs. Which spike insulin. When your hormones are changing, you can’t handle carbs like you used to. Result? More weight around the middle.

Thing 3: But we also can’t go too low in carbs.
I know. Keto backfires too.

So what do we do?
The Goldilocks Zone. This is how I eat nowadays- these are some of my recipes I create for you.

Focus is on fats and proteins with moderate carbs in a target zone.
Not too much. Not too little. Just right.

This is Step 2 of my MAGIC methodology.

I lost weight by injuring myself lifting heavy.
Sounds backwards, right?

I was lifting heavy like the fitness industry told me.

Then I got injured.

No choice but to go back to basics.
No weights. Just me and my body.
And that’s when everything changed.

Moving my hips in all directions.
Getting up and down from the floor.
Dynamic core work through MOVEMENT.
The weight finally came off.
My core got stronger.
And I stopped getting injured.
