Your nervous system is why you can't lose weight. And nobody is talking about it.

When your nervous system is in survival mode — and most women over 40 are stuck there — your body will not let go of fat.

It's not designed to.

A body under stress is a body in protection mode. It holds weight. It hoards energy. It pumps out cortisol that actively blocks fat burning and drives storage — especially around your middle.

I'm a naturopath with 30 years experience. And I couldn't fix my own body. Here's why.

I knew more about hormones than most GPs.
I understood nutrition at a cellular level.
I had every qualification you'd want in a health professional.

And at 40 I was gaining weight, exhausted, and completely confused by my own body.

Because knowing the theory and knowing what works after 40 are two completely different things.

Nobody taught me this in clinic. No textbook covered it. And every protocol I'd used successfully for years — suddenly stopped working on me.

So I went looking.

Not in textbooks this time. In research. In my own body. In the gap between what the health industry tells women to do and what actually works when your hormones are changing.

What I found was the opposite of everything I'd been trained to recommend.
