Off to Noosa Triathlon this weekend :) 8500 athletes participating in the World's Largest Amateur Triathlon - it's going to be EPIC!
After 14 years of participating individually in Noosa Triathlon (earning me LEGEND status - YES it's actually a thing), our kids Kaitlin & Ryan are joining us for a family BARWICK BUCKET LIST moment!
My wish for the whole family to participate at Noosa triathlon together. I am so excited...let's see what the youngsters have got!
Peter will be out there chasing them as well, however he has drawn the short straw with a very late wave start, so kudos to him as he'll be bringing it home in the best heat of the day!
Not only is the family smashing it out, we also have 3 of our inspirational athletes in Zoe Wogan, Zach Deakin & Jacqueline Rothfork Wogan stepping up to the plate as well. We also have John Deakin stepping in to do the swim leg in a team with Peter.
Participating in their maiden voyage of Noosa Triathlon, Jac & Zach taking on their very first Olympic Distance event (1.5km swim, 40km Bike, 10km Run) & Zoe looking to improve on her longer distance event times. Training these three amazing individuals has brought a variety of coaching FIRSTS :) Challenges to work through, epic moments of mini achievements along the way, lots & lots of laughter & even some stern coaching "LETS DO THIS" chats along the way. π
Three very different athletes, with various fitness levels & ages, out to achieve at the same event, but for very different individual reasons. As their coach, it's been exciting, challenging, & now the work is done, it's going to be EPIC!
This event holds a special place in my heart. My last event in 2014 I had my Mum on the sideline cheering me home. I know she'll be watching from 'the best seat in the house', sitting up there sprooking, "look she got the whole family racing Noosa".
So, as I head into my 15th Noosa Triathlon, for me to share this with not just my family but also these 3 amazing athletes, I feel extremely privileged. Grateful to have such an amazing family & grateful to have athletes who place their trust in us!
All in all, we wish them all the best of Jedi Jen luck!
