⚠️REGIONAL NSW LOCKDOWN TO BE ANNOUNCED⚠️

All of New South Wales will be locked down from five o’clock this afternoon.

The ABC understands the stay-at-home orders will be in place for a week.

New South Wales Deputy Premier John Barilaro said the measures were designed to "minimise movement and protect our communities from the evolving COVID situation in Sydney".

Nationals MLC Ben Franklin said it means the lockdown of four Northern Rivers Local Government Areas would be extended.

“For residents in the Lismore, Ballina, Byron and Richmond Valley LGA’S this will mean that the current lockdown will not be lifted at 12:01am on Tuesday 17 August as originally planned, but will now be extended to 5pm on Saturday 21 August,” he said in a post on social media.

Be great if we can all just do the right thing. Will mean a shorter lockdown and means we will get back to normal sooner. Keep your teenagers at home. Seems alot (not all) of the younger generation have no consideration for what’s going on. Annoying. If everyone just ignored the rules we could be in this for a long time 😔 parents please keep your kids at home, parties, hooning around with your mates is not acceptable. Please do the right thing so people and businesses can get back to normal as soon as possible 🙏🏼

Three Day Lockdown - please share!

BREAKING: Parts of Queensland will go into a three-day lockdown after cases of COVID-19 transmission were detected in the community.

From 6pm today until 6pm Friday 2 July, residents in the local government areas of Townsville, Palm Island, Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Gold Coast can only leave home for one of these four reasons:

1. To buy essentials such as groceries or medications
2. Work or study if you can’t do either from home
3. Exercise in your local area (with no more than one person outside of your household)
4. Healthcare or to provide help, care or support

Cafés, pubs and restaurants will be open only for take away or home delivery.

Visitors at private homes are limited to two.

Funerals are allowed up to 20 people, while weddings are allowed up to 10 people, including the celebrant and witnesses.

Wear a mask when you leave home.

To keep our most vulnerable safe, aged care, correctional centres, hospitals and disability service providers will close to visitors.

The restrictions will be reviewed on Friday morning.

These measures are tough, but they are important to keep Queensland safe.

We have the most amazing caretaker at the refuge that is my saving angel. Listens to everyone’s problems does all the heavy work, this angel is 65 years young helps me daily, won’t stop and relax. On my sad days she sits and listens to me helps and guides me with kindness and the occasional kick up the bum that I need.
Could some amazing massage therapist donate a regular massage for this amazing earth angel please?
Each day in so much pain she works so hard with so much passion. Each day working so hard to keep the place going and looking amazing.
Please message me if you can help keep the angel going.

On Tuesday, Queensland Health confirmed a Gold Coast man linked to the PA nurse cluster had tested positive for COVID19. Here's what we know about the Gold Coast tradie's case so far:

🔸 The positive case works as a tradie on the Gold Coast
🔸 He attended a hen's party in Byron Bay over the weekend as an entertainer, where he is believed to have contracted COVID-19
🔸 He visited the Tri-Care aged care centre in Mermaid Beach for two hours on March 29 (Monday)
🔸 The aged care centre has entered full lock down
🔸 Residents at the centre have already received an initial vaccination but staff have not
🔸 A Tri-Care spokesperson says the man had no contact with residents and ‘limited interaction’ with two staff who are now in quarantine
