Here’s what no one tells you:

Your fight or flight response isn’t the problem. It’s actually brilliant. It’s designed to protect you from danger.

But it was never meant to be your permanent state.

When you stay there too long, your body starts conserving energy for survival — not pleasure, not connection, not creativity.

That frustration?
It’s often mental overload. You’re stretched beyond capacity.

That exhaustion?
It takes an incredible amount of energy to stay in survival mode.

That reduced s*x drive?
Your body prioritizes survival over reproduction every time.

This isn’t weakness.
This isn’t you “not coping well enough.”
This is a nervous system that needs regulation.

Your body is always communicating with you.
When you learn to listen, you take your power back.

And the beautiful part?
You can teach your nervous system to feel safe again.

Here’s the secret ⬇️

That need to keep going, to not give up, to push through — is a gift. However, if it’s not kept in check, it can become a burden… and here’s why.

If you’re operating out of fight or flight, stressed, overwhelmed, unable to switch off — the energy behind the decisions you’re making isn’t necessarily aligned with what you truly want.

So you keep trying everything… yet feel like you’re getting no further.

That’s why it can feel exhausting. Like you’re doing the most but making no real progress.

When you look after yourself first — mind, body and soul, you stay grounded and connected. You’re no longer making decisions from fight or flight.

In doing this, you send a signal to yourself (and the world) that you matter.
And from that place? You have more energy. More creativity. And you progress with more ease.

I know that desire can be strong. The need to get things done. To reach your goal.

But here’s the secret to getting there, you can’t let that need overtake your essential needs to maintain your wellbeing.

Burning out won’t get you there faster.
Being grounded will.

I don’t know what works for you, but here are some things that help me:

• Eating or drinking something good for me (lemon water it my go to)
• One-on-one time with the kids even 10minutes feels good in my soul
• Yoga
• Walking
• The beach
• Training my mind to see the good in every situation
• No-phone Sundays
• Going to new places
• Body strength training
• Date night

Whatever you’re feeling right now… whatever thoughts are circling… they’re being filtered through your current beliefs.

And beliefs can feel so real. So convincing.

But they were learned.
They were shaped.
And they can be reshaped.

When you understand how your beliefs were created — and remember they are not who you are — something shifts.

There is nothing wrong with you.
There never was.

And from that place, you get to choose differently. ✨

If you can’t relax or be in the moment without your mind spinning with things to do, there’s something unconsciously driving this. Something your brain learnt from your past, there may of been a time where perfectionism helped you, but if it no longer helps you and you actually want to be calm, grounded and to be in the moment without your kids, family, or friends then you can absolutely have this. What the brain can learn, it can unlearn. 💛
