This NAIDOC Week marks 50 years of celebrating the strength, culture, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. 🖤💛❤️
It’s also a time to reflect on what it means to listen deeply, honour Country, and practice cultural humility - especially for those of us teaching, caring, or holding space on unceded land.
This blog explores the concept of Dadirri, shared by Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr-Baumann of the Ngangikurungkurr people, and the significance of the Wangan and Jagalingou people’s recent win in protecting the sacred Doongmabulla Springs. It also invites us to consider what culturally responsive practice can look like in yoga and human services.
For those working in healing, education, or wellbeing, this reflection may offer grounding, guidance, and a call to keep listening.
With deep respect to the Traditional Custodians of these lands and waters.
Always was, always will be. 🖤💛❤️
