Rich in mucilage, marshmallow forms a soft, gel-like coating that can calm irritation, ease discomfort, and support healing in sensitive mucosal tissues. It’s particularly helpful for those experiencing reflux, throat irritation, or that raw, burning feeling that can follow meals or stress.

Sipped slowly as a cool infusion or a marshmallow glycertract or taken as a powder in water, marshmallow works by gently coating and protecting, not by blocking or suppressing. It also increases beneficial bacteria in the gut.

Your gut and your mind are deeply connected, and one of the most powerful tools to support that connection is meditation and breath.

Chronic stress can disrupt digestion, alter the balance of gut bacteria, and weaken the gut lining. Meditation helps bring the body into a parasympathetic state, the “rest and digest” mode, where healing, balance, and proper digestive function can happen.

Even a few minutes a day of quiet breathing or mindfulness can help regulate the nervous system, reduce inflammation, and support a healthier gut environment.

It doesn’t need to be perfect. Just consistent. Your gut listens.

Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) are natural components of certain bacteria in the gut. In balance, they’re part of the normal ecosystem, but when they make their way into the bloodstream, they can activate the immune system and contribute to low-grade, chronic inflammation.

Research suggests that high levels of circulating LPS are linked to conditions like heart disease, insulin resistance, and obesity. One of the key factors? A compromised gut barrier, often associated with low-fibre, high-fat diets that don’t support microbial balance or gut lining integrity.

The good news: what you eat can make a real difference. Nourishing your microbiome with fibre-rich whole foods helps support a strong gut lining and may reduce the movement of LPS into the bloodstream, helping to calm inflammation at the source.
