Because the movements are smaller and more controlled, there’s less momentum to rely on, which means the muscles have to stay engaged for longer.
That’s usually where people start to notice the difference, particularly through the hips, legs and postural muscles.
It’s not about how quickly you move through it, but how well you can hold and support the position.
For people who spend a lot of time sitting or working at a desk, this can be a really helpful way to bring the body back into a more supported position.
