South East Queensland is in a heatwave! Here's some tips to keep you cool and safe:

💧 Drink plenty of cold water
🚫 Skip the alcohol and caffeine
🥗 Eat cool foods and try not to use your oven, it heats up your home
👀 Check your wee—dark colour or not going often means you need more water
🧊 Place a cool cloth on your neck with a fan blowing it
👕 Wear light, loose clothing and protect yourself from the sun when outdoors
🖤 Check in on your Mob! Elders, bubs, jarjum, pregnant or breastfeeding women or Mob with a medical condition need extra support during a heatwave ️

If you have a medical condition, yarn with our clinic or call Mob Link on 1800 254 354 to learn how to reduce your risk.

We’re proud to celebrate a Work It Out graduate who shows up strong every week at the Cleveland Goodlife Graduate Program.

Uncle Merv has taken charge of his own health with a gym membership, training alongside other Uncles in self-managed sessions to keep each other motivated.

He’s even recently added the plate-loaded 45-degree leg press to his routine. A great way to safely build strength in the legs, hips and glutes, supporting balance, walking and everyday movement.

Congratulations Uncle Merv for leading by example and showing what connection and commitment look like 💪🏾

South East Queensland is experiencing a heat wave and severe thunderstorms this week.

Here’s how to protect yourself and your loved ones from the heat:

☀️ Exercise or do outside activities early in the morning or later in the evening
☀️ Stay indoors if it’s cool enough inside
☀️ Find a cool place to go if it’s too hot at home
☀️ If you have an appointment, and you can’t get to it with airconditioned transport, try rescheduling or check if you can do it via telehealth.

If you have a medical condition, yarn with us or call Mob Link on 1800 254 354.

For emergencies, call 000.

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Violence is never OK – it’s not our way. Here is what we can do about it:

🎗️ Listen to and believe women. Acknowledgement is the first step towards justice.
🎗️ Support community-led solutions. Healing starts with us.
🎗️ Sing out to us for support if you’re experiencing violence, or you’re concerned about your own behaviour.

Silence shields violence.

We’re here to listen and provide a safe space for Community. Whatever service you access, you can yarn with us for support.

Our jarjum are our future. 🖤💛❤️💚🤍💙

This World Children’s Day, let’s celebrate everything that makes our little ones deadly: their talents, courage, passions, energy and curiosity.

Today’s kids are tomorrow’s leaders — a generation who will keep our culture strong and pass it on to those coming after them.
