This is a topic affecting us all...and appreciating the differences in male and female cycles is so essential to our wellbeing.
Did you know that the male body has an hormonal cycle of 24 hours? They peak with testosterone in the early morning and then dip in the afternoon. Gym workouts are therefore optimal for men in the morning, same with important meetings - in fact the typical 9-5 workday is ideal for men. Oestrogen rises slightly in the evenings and testosterone dips, supporting sleep.
The female body does not cycle like this. Our hormones are adhering to an infradian (monthly rhythm) so the day-in-day-out typical norm that many women try to fit in to and give themselves a really hard time when it doesn’t seem to work, is not how the body is designed.
Get to know your cycle, the ebb and flow and the offering of each phase, and you will maximise your true potential. Stop trying to make yourself be something or feel a certain way, when it is simply impossible. Surrender away from the chaos that is created when you don’t honour the natural cycles of your body. It’s more than worth it - it’s everything.
