With the New Year comes new beginnings for Zara Blazsanyik Remedial Massage. I am now providing massage services from my home in Gordon.

Please note that I am not currently taking on any new clients who I have not previously provided services to unless they have been referred by an existing client. If you are a new client with a referral contact, please include their name at the time of booking, otherwise your appointment will be removed.

I'm seeing a lot of social media pressure to take this time of physical distancing to learn a new skill or come out better than you were when all this started. If this is the kind of message you need to get through this stint of isolation, then go for it, but if you are feeling pressured and stressed out by this notion, just ignore it!

Take this time to manage your mental health however you need to. If that means eating cake for breakfast here and there and binge watching Netflix then do it. Do what you have to to maintain your sanity.

Look after yourselves.

Coronavirus/COVID-19 update

A lot has changed in a week. Where I felt it was safe for myself and my clients for me to continue providing massage service at the time of my last update, with the rapid increase in cases, now 39 in Canberra, I no longer feel this is the case.

This has been a very difficult decision for me, but I cannot justify putting my clients and my family at risk. Please stay safe and look after your friends and family.

I look forward to returning to work when it is safe to do so.

Coronavirus/COVID-19 Update

My highest priority is the health and safety of my clients, my colleagues and my family. As health care professionals, we are staying informed of how the virus could affect our clinic and the best way to protect our own health and the health of our clients. We are ensuring we are familiar with best practice standards around infection control and we are monitoring recommendations from the Australian Government Department of Health updates.

Hygiene and infection control is paramount. We are regularly disinfecting surfaces including treatment tables, door handles and the EFTPOS terminal. Hand sanitiser is available at reception and a second waiting area has been made available in the kitchenette area for clients to maintain further distance from others in the clinic, should they choose to do so. Please sanitise or wash your hands when you first arrive in the clinic.

If you have recently travelled internationally, been in contact with anyone who is confirmed to have COVID-19 or you present with any symptoms, please reschedule your appointment.

In these uncertain times, remember to remain calm and be kind to yourself and others. These challenges will pass. If you are feeling overwhelmed, massage assists in regulating autonomic nervous system function and reduces stress hormones. Research has even shown that massage may boost immune function by increasing the activity of white blood cells!
