If things like getting dressed, cooking, or leaving the house are taking more energy than they used to, you’re not alone. 💙

Needing support doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It means your body or mind is asking for a different approach and that’s where the right care can help.

We’re here to make everyday life feel more manageable, one step at a time. 🌿

Your body often shows early warning signs before pain or injury appears. These can include:
• Fatigue after simple tasks
• Needing more rest breaks
• Avoiding certain movements or activities
• Increased aches after daily routines

These signs mean tasks may no longer be efficient or safe, even if you can still do them.
Occupational Therapists assess how tasks are done and help adjust techniques, tools, or environments to reduce strain and prevent injury.

👉 Early support can help maintain independence longer.

Sometimes it’s not you, it’s your environment. 🏡

Small changes to your home or daily setup can reduce strain, improve safety, and make routines feel smoother.
Our OTs look at the whole picture to help your space work for you, not against you.

Because feeling supported should start right where you live. 💙

Emotional regulation is the ability to recognise, manage, and recover from emotional responses.
It is not something you’re born “good” or “bad” at, but it’s a learned skill.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) focuses on:
• Identifying triggers
• Teaching coping and communication strategies
• Building routines that reduce emotional overload
• Supporting carers with consistent responses

PBS does not use punishment or restrictive approaches.
It’s about building skills that support long-term wellbeing.

In Occupational Therapy, there’s an important difference between:
“Can do”: physically possible
“Should do”: safe, sustainable, and energy-efficient

For example, someone may be able to bend to the floor, but doing so repeatedly may increase fall risk or pain.
OTs assess task safety, body mechanics, and fatigue levels to determine better ways to complete tasks, not just whether they’re possible.

👉 Independence should not come at the cost of injury or burnout.

Many people live with small daily challenges without ever mentioning them, often thinking they just have to “get on with it.”

But support isn’t about labels or judgement.
It’s about understanding what’s getting in the way and finding practical strategies that truly help. 🌱

We’re here to listen, support, and work alongside you.

Research and clinical practice show that small, regular practice leads to better long-term outcomes than infrequent intense effort.

Why?
• It reduces fatigue and flare-ups
• It supports habit formation
• It allows the nervous system time to adapt
• It lowers the risk of injury or emotional overwhelm

OT and PBS programs are designed around sustainable routines, not pushing through discomfort.
Progress is built through repetition, not exhaustion.

Many falls happen at home due to environmental factors, including:
• Loose rugs or mats
• Poor lighting, especially at night
• Slippery bathroom surfaces
• Cluttered walkways
• Storage that requires reaching or bending

Occupational Therapists conduct home assessments to identify these risks and recommend practical changes such as grab rails, improved lighting, non-slip surfaces, or layout adjustments.

👉 Most modifications are simple and do not change how your home feels.

Routines reduce stress by lowering the brain’s decision-making load.
When the brain knows what to expect, it uses less energy to stay regulated.

Consistent routines can:
• Reduce anxiety and emotional overwhelm
• Improve sleep and daily organisation
• Support emotional regulation
• Increase participation in daily tasks

PBS practitioners help build flexible routines that support emotional wellbeing without being rigid or restrictive.
