💫 Meet Shushana — our Senior Physiotherapist (and secret dancing superstar!)

With over 20 years of experience and a Masters in Clinical Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal Major), Shushana brings a wealth of knowledge, intuition, and care to every appointment. She began her physio career in busy hospital settings overseas, moved to Australia in 2006, and has since supported countless patients across private practice and aged care.

But here’s what makes her truly unforgettable:
✨ If she wasn’t a physio, she’s convinced she’d be performing on the world stage — and we can see why! Shushana has won multiple dancing competitions and still dances for fitness and sheer joy.

Outside the clinic, she loves travelling, experiencing new cultures, and discovering great food from around the globe.

We’re so lucky to have her energy, expertise, and warmth on the Gosnells Physio team 💙

✨ Dry Needling at Gosnells Physiotherapy ✨

We’re excited to share that Kira has just completed her 80-hour Dry Needling course!
Dry Needling is now available with Kira, Shushana, and Daniel — all trained and experienced in using this technique to support your recovery.

What is Dry Needling?
Dry Needling uses fine, sterile needles to release tight muscles, calm overactive trigger points, reduce pain, and improve movement. It can be especially helpful for:
• Stubborn tightness
• Headaches & neck tension
• Sports injuries
• Tendon pain
• Back or hip stiffness

Why we use it:
Because sometimes muscles need a little extra help to switch off, reset, and move better.
It works beautifully alongside hands-on treatment and exercise rehab.

If you’re curious about whether Dry Needling could help your specific injury, feel free to ask us at your next appointment!

💆‍♀️ Meet Lucy - our wonderful new Remedial Massage Therapist!
We’re so excited to have her join the Gosnells Physiotherapy team! 💙

Originally from Taiwan, Lucy has been living in Australia for six years and brings warmth, care, and experience to every treatment she gives.
Outside the clinic, she’s an animal lover who adopted a Kelpie while working on a sheep farm 🐕 and even brought her cat all the way from Taiwan to Perth 🐈. On her days off, you’ll often find her exploring new hiking trails around Perth.

Lucy speaks Mandarin, Hokkien, and English, and we’re thrilled to have her as part of our team!

🦴 Today is World Osteoporosis Day!
Osteoporosis is often called the “silent disease” — most people don’t know they have it until they break a bone after a small fall or bump.
Strong bones start with simple, everyday habits 💪

Here’s how you can look after your bone health:
✅ Move your bones – weight-bearing and strength exercises (like walking, squats, or step-ups) help keep bones strong.
✅ Know your risk – take the free IOF risk check: https://riskcheck.osteoporosis.foundation
✅ Eat for your bones – include calcium-rich foods and get enough vitamin D from sunlight or supplements.
✅ Avoid bone-damaging habits – smoking, excessive alcohol, and low body weight can all increase your risk.
❗️Physiotherapists play a key role in exercise and fall prevention — if you’ve had a fracture or want to stay strong and steady, we can help you get started safely.
