Our ANKC Registered Breeder Prefix is IUVO. We breed; raise; train and place pedigreed, fully health-tested Standard Poodles as loving pets & we place some to work as Assistance Dogs in Australia. The Latin word IUVO means " help, aid, assist".

Our ANKC Dogs NSW Membership of IUVO is under Linda [S L] Fraser our Director: IUVO PREFIX Member No 2100063199. "Assistance Dog" or "Assistance Animal" is what the Government use here which is equal rank to "Service Dog" in the USA.

Our service varies from you buying a pup from us & getting an AD Trainer close to where you live, to you buying your pup guy& training with your pup with us in our training rooms plus in other venues close to where we are located. We offer a line of balanced; guywell-socialised; calm temperamented; well-bred; genetically clear of the testable Standard Poodle inherited diseases; carrying a good hereditary history of hips + eyes & we have selectively bred a highly intelligent line of Standard Poodles that love to learn how to help their human.

When doing classical counterconditioning, you are creating what is called a positive conditioned emotional response. Think of what those words mean. A POSITIVE RESPONSE - that is more than tolerance. What do you look for while working with your dog?
It's been called a "yippee" response by people such as Jean Donaldson. Happy, relaxed, enthusiastic...YIPPEE! That thing that used to scare me - I'm super happy to see it. You'll notice that your dog starts "jumping" the treat. This means that your dog sees a trigger and instead of reacting, they turn to you looking and anticipating the food.
That is far more than tolerance. Tolerance is "fine...whatever...are we done yet." Tolerance has a lack of enthusiasm and joy.
While we at owners might be happy to settle for a quiet dog, work to the point of a conditioned emotional response prior to making your exercise harder. It gives your dog a strong foundation prior to moving on. The stronger your foundation work is, the easier it is for your dog to face greater challenges.
Weak foundations lead to weak results. Aim for a strong conditioned emotional response.

We will send pups by Dogtainers (specialised road pet transport) at buyer's expense - we have found them perfect even when they need to take care of our pup with an added overnight stay with them on the way.
