Rotary Club of Goulburn

Rotary Club of Goulburn Serving Goulburn and the international community since 1930. Our projects, programs and events serve the Goulburn community and abroad.

We are a dynamic group of people who volunteer our time based on the ideal of Service Above Self - Rotary's core value. Chartered in 1930, the Rotary Club of Goulburn is an amalgamated Rotary Club, comprising the former Rotary Clubs of Goulburn, Goulburn Mulwaree and Goulburn Argyle. Rotary is an international service organisation of business and professional men and women who accept the 'Ideal of Service' as the basis for success and happiness in business and community life. The Rotary Club of Goulburn raises its funds through annual Swap Meet
and Book Fair, monthly Parkside Markets as well as various catering activities including Goulburn Speedway and other opportunities as they arise. The fellowship involved in working together is a feature of our Club. Our Club raises funds to support many organisations locally, throughout Australia and the world. Some of our beneficiaries include: Goulburn Base Hospital, Polio Plus, Bowel Care, Goulburn Prostate Cancer Support Group, the Salvation Army and many more. The Rotary Club of Goulburn meets every Monday evening at 6pm for 6.15pm at the Goulburn Workers Club, Goulburn. Guests are very welcome to attend, and can contact us through Facebook to book in, or give President Geoff Thrower a call on 0417 667 045.

We are looking forward to another great Goulburn Rotary Markets tomorrow!

Proudly brought to you by Rotary Club of Goulburn.

Saturday is Goulburn Rotary Markets day!

Second last Market before πŸŽ… arrives, so come on down, shop with our fabulous local and regional stallholders.

Growing Abilities Goulburn are cooking up a storm on the bbq, and Hume Conservatorium are on the tunes. What a line up!

See you in Montague Street from 8.30am. β˜€οΈ

Stallholders - we have a long waiting list in place, so if your plans have changed and you can't come, let us know ASAP or you may not get a site for December. We try and be as flexible and accommodating as possible, but we can't keep being disappointed by no-shows, while others don't get the opportunity to get a site.

πŸ’™ Caring for our community

Earlier this year, the Rotary Club of Goulburn was pleased to be able to support people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping through the provision of sleeping bags - a small gesture with a big impact during the colder months.

We were recently joined by Toni Reay from Anglicare, who spoke about the important work they do supporting vulnerable people across our region, and thanked Rotary for our continued care for community.

It’s a reminder that together, we can make a real difference. πŸ’›

🌟 Supporting our youth!

The Rotary Club of Goulburn is proud to have sponsored Dylan and Larry to attend RYPEN (Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment) this year. πŸ™Œ Both gents happily spoke to the Club about their experience and thanked us for the opportunity.

RYPEN helps young people build confidence, leadership skills and teamwork through an inspiring weekend of activities and connection.

We love supporting youth programs that help tomorrow’s leaders shine! πŸ’›πŸ’™

🌍 World Polio Day – 24 October

Today we join Rotarians around the world in supporting Rotary’s
End Polio Now campaign - a global effort that has helped reduce polio cases by more than 99% since 1988. πŸ’ͺ

The Rotary Club of Goulburn proudly contributes to this important cause each year, donating at the end of every Rotary year and giving an additional $100 in recognition of our guest speakers throughout the year.

Every dollar makes a difference in creating a world free from polio. ❀️

🎭 Rotary supports Mighty Playwrights Goulburn!

The Rotary Club of Goulburn is proud to donate a further $5,000 to support the inspiring Mighty Playwrights program, giving local young people the chance to write, create and see their stories come to life on stage. ✨

It’s a wonderful celebration of creativity, confidence and community - exactly the kind of project Rotary loves to get behind. πŸ’›

Thanks to Monique from Goulburn Mulwaree Library and Greg one of the brains trust behind this program for joining us recently to talk all things Mighty Playwrights and the great success it continues to be. We are thrilled to continue to support this project.

We were recently joined by John Askew, Rotary District 9705 Service Director as our Guest Speaker. John talked about some of the District Projects Rotary is involved with.

These included:
- Ruby’s House
- Food Relief program for local families
- Eugowra Flood Support
- Rotary Day of Action to say β€œNo!” to Domestic & Family Violence and β€œYes” to Respective Relationships
- Louisa - A community-based service that offers information, advice, support and accommodation to women, children and men who have experienced domestic or family violence.
- β€œYour Place” is a Specialist Homelessness Service run in collaboration with Barnardos.

Rotary Clubs in our District contribute so much to our communities, and it's great to hear of the work being done by other Rotarians, and wonderful community outcomes.

Spot our historic information signs as you travel along the Wollondilly River and Mulwaree River Walkways.

We are proud to continue to develop these signs, with the help of our research friends at History Goulburn and with the support of our friends at Goulburn Mulwaree Council.

As proud Rotarians we love Goulburn Australia and the beauty of our fine City, and it is our greatest pleasure to volunteer our time for the community we know and love.

Rotarians- we do a lot, have a lot of fun, and encourage you to come and find out who we are and why we do it. We’d love to hear from you.

πŸ“šπŸ’™ That’s a wrap on the Rotary Goulburn Charity Book Fair!

A huge thank you to our wonderful community for the overwhelming support – from the generous book donations to the thousands who came through the doors to browse, buy, and back Rotary. Every dollar raised will go straight into supporting local and global Rotary projects.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors and supporters, who make the Book Fair possible and help us stretch every dollar further by reducing our operational costs:

πŸ™ Kennards Hire Goulburn for the forklift & pallet jack hire
πŸ™ Barnett's Transport for the loan of a truck for bump in & bump out - our backs thank you!
πŸ™ Cameron Buchanan for donating pallets for our books
πŸ™ Neil Campbell our #1 forklift operator
πŸ™ Goulburn Show for the lend of your many tables
πŸ™ Goulburn Mulwaree Council for their venue hire support
πŸ™ Our good friend Thom from Oh CDs for his book donations & sponsorship.

Your generosity and community spirit mean the world. Together, we’ve given thousands of books a new life and raised funds to do even more good. Until next time – thank you, Goulburn! πŸ’™πŸ“š

P.S Watch this space for dates for our next book fair, in the first half of 2026!
