What an honour it is to be treating local legend William. In 1970, he secured a bronze medal in the 100 metres freestyle at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh and won two relay golds, including a world record breaking performance in the 4 x 200 metres freestyle. He had a "short" break from competitive swimming then decided to compete in the 12th Fina World masters which was held in Perth 2008 and involved 3211 swimmers form 63 countries. He matched his medal winning performance from 38 years prior bringing in 2 gold in the 200 and 400 Freestyle and a bronze in the 100 Freestyle. What an absolute inspiration he is.
