We are delighted to welcome Joanna Sutherland as the new Chair of Livable’s Board, following the conclusion of Stephen Avery's two-year term.

With over 30 years of clinical experience as an anaesthetist, Jo brings extensive experience in governance, organisational risk and workplace culture. She has previously served on the boards of the Local Health District and the North Coast Primary Health Network and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Jo has been actively involved in health policy development and implementation at local, state and national levels. She has a longstanding interest in the connection between health and social care, the social determinants of health and is strongly committed to innovation, reform and workforce development and support.

Jo’s leadership, alongside the expertise and commitment of our Board of Directors, will help guide Livable’s continued growth, innovation and meaningful impact across our communities.

Join us in extending a warm welcome to Jo, and in sincerely thanking Stephen for his dedication, guidance, and positive contribution he has made to Livable.

What an incredible year 2025 has been! 🎄✨ Our Hubs group wrapped up the year in festive style, coming together for a Christmas party to celebrate.

The Glenreagh and Grafton Sunshine Clubs wrapped up the year with a wonderful Christmas celebration. There were lots of laughs, cherished friendships and special memories shared — a fantastic way to finish the year together. 😍 🎄✨

Livable’s Sunshine Club for people aged 65 years and over will recommence from Monday, 5 January 2026. The Sunshine Club provides a welcoming and supportive environment where participants can enjoy meaningful social connections, outings and a range of fun activities.

Our Playgroups wrapped up the year with Christmas celebrations in Grafton and Yamba. 🎅🎁

Livable’s Supported Playgroups run during school terms and will recommence from 28 January 2026. They are free for families with children aged 5 years and under and are coordinated by our amazing early childhood facilitator, Eliza.

What an incredible day by the water! Alex and Caleb were all smiles as they got hooked on the Beyond Barriers Gone Fishing Day, enjoying guided beach fishing at beautiful Whiting Beach, Yamba.

A huge shout-out to Banksia Allied Health and Rotary Club of Yamba for organising such a fantastic event, and to our amazing Support Coordination team for helping connect participants to this opportunity. 🎣💜

The streets of Grafton came alive with colour, music, and community spirit as we joined the Jacaranda Festival parade, celebrating this year’s theme — A Crowning Glory 👑💜

Our team, participants, and families proudly represented Livable - spreading bubbles, waving from our vehicles and celebrating all things purple!

Rain, hail or shine, it’s always exciting to be part of a community event that brings everyone together. Thank you to everyone who joined us, cheered us on, and helped make the parade so special.
