Today we recognise International Day of People with Disability, a day dedicated to celebrating the contributions, strengths, and achievements of people with many abilities in our communities.

This day is a reminder that inclusion doesn’t happen by accident - it happens when we all work together to create a society that is respectful, fair and accessible for all.

In Australia, 5.5 million people are living with a diagnosed disability, and many more remain undiagnosed. Behind every number is a person with goals, talents and a unique story - and a community that can play a role in ensuring they are seen, heard, and supported.

What an incredible day by the water! Alex and Caleb were all smiles as they got hooked on the Beyond Barriers Gone Fishing Day, enjoying guided beach fishing at beautiful Whiting Beach, Yamba.

A huge shout-out to Banksia Allied Health and Rotary Club of Yamba for organising such a fantastic event, and to our amazing Support Coordination team for helping connect participants to this opportunity. 🎣💜

The streets of Grafton came alive with colour, music, and community spirit as we joined the Jacaranda Festival parade, celebrating this year’s theme — A Crowning Glory 👑💜

Our team, participants, and families proudly represented Livable - spreading bubbles, waving from our vehicles and celebrating all things purple!

Rain, hail or shine, it’s always exciting to be part of a community event that brings everyone together. Thank you to everyone who joined us, cheered us on, and helped make the parade so special.

Yesterday, our team joined in the fun at the Grafton Jacaranda Festival Thursday Markets, and what a fantastic day it was! The streets were buzzing with community spirit and shades of Jacaranda purple — we loved every moment of it. 💜

It was wonderful catching up with familiar faces and seeing so many of our participants out and about, enjoying everything the festival has to offer. Events like this remind us just how special our local community is. 🫶😍

🚫 Playgroup Update – Lower Clarence

To our Lower Clarence Playgroup families - due to a serious accident on Yamba Road, which has closed the road to all traffic, today’s Playgroup has been cancelled.

Our thoughts and hearts are with everyone affected by the incident, as well as the emergency services responding at the scene. 💜

Livable’s Palliative Care Team has been named the 2025 Northern Rivers Volunteer Team of the Year at the NSW Volunteer Awards, announced in Tweed Heads yesterday! 💛

This incredible achievement recognises the compassion, dedication, and care our volunteers bring to the Clarence Valley community. For more than 21 years, our Palliative Care Team has selflessly given their time to provide warmth, understanding, and comfort to individuals and families living with life-limiting illness.

A huge congratulations to every member of the team - Maggie Terrey, Kathryn Lentfer, Kerry Hughes, Colin Clark, Neroli Noonan and a special shoutout to Christine Fuller, Shirley Burke, and Stephanye Holden, who have been part of this service since its very beginning. We would also like to thank Annette for coordinating the volunteers and shining a light on their remarkable work.

Livable’s Family Services are all about helping families feel supported, confident, and connected - offering supported playgroups, parenting workshops, and practical guidance for families with young children. The best part is, our services are free!

They’ll be there until 3pm, so pop by, say hello, and join in the fun! 💛
