Feeling your feelings and learning how to hold yourself through painful times helps you become more self-reliant.

Not that you don't still need people, but you're no longer desperate to be saved by them.

A great skill I learnt through Somatic therapy & IFS. A lot of clients come to me simply without the skills. They're life-changing and easy to learn.

If you want to learn them for yourself, you can book a 1:1 with me or register your interest for group therapy courses starting next year šŸ¤—

I’ve finally started writing in my blog again after a long break. In between posts specifically related to trauma therapy, I’ve started writing about single motherhood.

Link to my first post here - https://glowwiththeflowpsychotherapy.com.au/single-mothering-part-1-alone/

I’ve been a single mother since my child was 10-weeks old. He’s 4 in February. I’ve learnt and felt more than I could have imagined, and I’d like to share some of it with you.

There’s a lot for single mothers, or even partnered mothers who'll relate. I’ll be speaking about learning how to be alone and becoming self-reliant, working through anger, bitterness and resentment, acceptance, parenting & re-parenting, how somatic therapy, IFS & mindfulness meditation has helped me, and so much more..

This is for me as much as for you. I like to write and I don’t see enough single mothers sharing their journey. We are not alone. There are more of us than ever out there today. This collective experience should be shared, our courage celebrated and our strength acknowledged.

To all the single mothers, I feel you. You are amazing. You are enough šŸ„°šŸŒøšŸ’—

Group therapy provides a unique opportunity to rewire maladaptive attachment patterns, as it is one of the few safe spaces for us to explore our vulnerability in connection with others.

Stay tuned - this Friday I will share the dates for my Term 1 2026 Group Therapy Courses 🄰

I used to feel like I was a fraud...

Because I could do yoga and sing mantra and feel all peaceful one minute and the next eat meat, feel anger or rage, or watch tv...

I’ve come to really accept that there’s no way we can be so ā€˜one sided’. We’ve all seen how that can turn out in spiritual/religious communities anyway...

You can’t deny and suppress your humanity. Polarity / duality is part of the foundation of this existence. Love and hate. Peace and anger. Fear and courage.

They simply all coexist - both within us individually and within society as a whole.

Thanks to Internal family systems (IFS/parts theory) I’ve really been able to learn how to accept and embrace ALL PARTS OF ME.

I don’t feel like something is wrong with me when I express my humanity in the whole rainbow spectrum of potential we have 🌈

How does this feel? Amazing. I can just feel what I feel - both pleasure and pain, without judgement or shame.

It’s the liberation the Buddhists talk about, but for me, using IFS really helped me embody and experience this on a deeper level. Buddhism is a great philosophy, but IFS and somatic work bring it home šŸ”

Dear friends,

Most of you don’t know this, but I want to share my background story and my ā€˜why’ for starting a free chronic illness support group.

I have been battling chronic illness for over 13 years now. When I was finally given a diagnosis in January 2024 and the treatment didn’t work, I was devastated and gave up trying for a while. I couldn’t handle any more disappointment and I was sicker than ever. I just had to keep functioning and get through every day but I had a lot of bitterness, resentment and anger at my situation that was out of my control.

Earlier this year some hope came back as I started to feel better with some new support. I had a glimpse of the possibility of getting better, but shortly after I experienced 3-month flare-up and really hit rock bottom.

And when I was there, you know what I thought to myself?

ā€˜Well, if this is rock bottom, the only way from here is up’.

And that’s where I found this incredible strength within me. Strength in the form of surrender.

I didn’t give up - I gave in. I surrendered. I accepted. I had to tell myself I may never have a healthy body and be able to do some of the things I used to. I had to let go of the attachment and desperation to be rid of this illness so I could ā€˜live my life’.

I decided I would live my life, my best life, in spite of. I wasn’t going to let my illness get in the way anymore. I had to feel a hell of a lot of grief for dreams and desires I had to let go of. But the attachment to getting better and living in a healthy body was making me even more miserable.

I gave up the battle. I stopped fighting myself. I accepted my limitations. And I’m making the most of what I do have and what I can do.

A great peace and contentment came over me when I found this acceptance. I haven’t given up on my healing journey either. I’ll continue to look for answers and the right solutions, but it’s from a different place now. Not from a desperate place.

I may get better, I may not. Either way, it’s ok. Because I know I can feel the fear, the anger, the grief, all of it, that comes with this journey of life.

In saying all this, I wish I had support from someone to understood what it was like to live with chronic illness, and how to thrive in spite of. So, each Monday from 12-1pm I have carved out the space for a Free Chronic Illness Support Group. A safe space to connect with others on this challenging journey. It will run from my beautiful office space in Wollongbar.

Bookings are preferred as spaces are limited. You can find the link via my website 😊 https://glowwiththeflowpsychotherapy.com.au/

Our story

I create a safe space for you to go within and find your truth.

I am a trained yoga and meditation teacher. My yoga classes focus on alignment, grounding, stability and mindfulness. The goal in yoga is to use the breath and the body to start to calm and quiet the mind. My classes are complete with asana, pranayama, meditation and relaxation.

I completed my 50hr Yin Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher Training with Clare Lovelace at SoulTribe Yoga Studio in Batemans Bay. I completed my Level 1 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with Bec Isaacs & John Ogilive at Byron Yoga Centre. I completed my training in Meditation teaching and Holistic Human Development with Susanne Jones at The Meditation Teacher Training College Campbelltown.

I look forward to connecting with you :)
