"1500 sessions at SoHo Yoga - devotion to practice.
Reflecting back on the crisis mode I was in when I started at the studio in 2019. A part of me knew I needed to take my yoga practice from home and into a studio for connection to community, for a sense of safety. At the beginning of 2019 I chose the word DEVOTION as a guiding principle for the year. This focus on devotion I brought to yoga and would practice daily.
It was interesting to me that I felt so safe at SoHo. Safe to be more emotional - in the back corner of the room my tears would flow and I felt no sense of embarrassment, I felt embraced. Twice I have had panic attacks whilst at the studio and quelled them during the class. I have made new friends and happily introduced friends to SoHo. I have had deep and healing reciprocal conversations with teachers and fellow students.
Taking time to acknowledge the 1500 milestone allows me to see that practicing yoga at SoHo is a fundamental element of my physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
