MEET RAD! 😎
A new support worker joining us here at Geelong Disability Services (and we couldn't be more excited!)
"Hi, I’m Rad (my middle name is Radford). I’m originally from New Zealand and moved to Australia in 2000 for better work opportunities. I spent many years working in construction and utilities, first operating machinery and later in health and safety roles. Over time, I was ready for a change and wanted to try something more people-focused.
I completed my Individual Support Worker Certificate so I could build the skills needed to support participants in their day-to-day lives and personal interests. I’m easy-going and practical, and I like a laugh.
I enjoy being hands-on and creative. I like doing art, including silk screens, and enjoy metal and woodwork.
I’ve built several cars and work on engines and boats, and I have a workshop at home where I can work on projects. I also enjoy fishing and cooking – gnocchi, sauces and salads, especially when I can cook for others."
We love welcoming support workers who bring real life experience, practical skills, and genuine personality to our team and Rad brings all of that and more!
If you or someone you support would connect well with Rad’s hands on, creative, practical style, now is the perfect time to reach out.
