Welcome to Art & Culture!

Member Zac has been learning the art of papel picado, which literally translates to ‘punched’ or ‘perforated’ paper.

According to the New Mexico Museum of International Folk Art "this traditional cut paper folk art is found throughout Mexico and the former colonies of Spain. In Mexico the art is present at every major holiday in the form of brightly coloured strings of cut tissue paper banners."

It's just one of the many art styles and techniques Zac and the other Members will learn about this term!
